Full History :
Alnitak is the eldest of a litter of three kits who were born on the 3rd day in the Moon of Ill Winds to Rigel, a pure-bred Singapura domestic tom, and Maria Isabel, a semi-feral she-cat. Alnitak lived with his parents and his younger siblings, Alnilam and Mintaka, for six weeks in the human house of his father. He enjoyed a happy and carefree childhood during that time, but his contentment was short-lived. Rigel's owner decided to give away the three kits, but although she captured Alnilam, Maria Isabel and her two other kits were able to slip past her.
After fleeing from the only home Alnitak had ever known, he and Mintaka were mentored by their dame in the knowledge of how to survive on the streets. They never saw their sire again. When Alnitak was in his third moon, his dame was shot by a human. Once again, Alnitak fled, and was able to escape unscathed. However, it was only when he was a good distance away and stopped to slow down that he realized he had left his sister behind. He frantically returned the way he had come, but though he was able to follow the scent of his dame's blood, Maria Isabel's carcass was alone; both the murdering human and Mintaka had gone. Despondent, Alnitak did his best to bury what was once his mother, and afterward had little choice but to continue on his way. Although he has adapted to life alone and is able to feed and shelter himself sufficiently, he is deeply scarred by the loss of his family, and continues to feel guilt over losing his little sister. Alnitak has scarcely spoken to another living being since the day of his dame's death and his sister's disappearance. During the blizzard of 2009, he froze to death. |
