Appearance

Short Description :
A small dark gray tom with green eyes and a long tail
Long Description :
Duskpelt is slim and a small build, built for speed. He isn't particularly muscular, which can hinder him during battle, but his speed can make up for that as his ability to dodge attack is a lot better than his strength, although he isn't weak. His fur is a light black, nearing dark gray. On his belly, it is longer than the average short-haired cat's, but on his back it is shorter and about the normal length. His fur is thick and soft. His ears are darker than the rest of his body and the fur tufts on the tips of them. He has dark green eyes and a long tail.
Personality

Duskpelt is an adventurous cat. Always curious and full of energy, he is never one to stay in his den when he could be out hunting or just exploring the ShadowClan territory. His mother had once told him that his curiosity "would be the end of him." And it nearly was, but he hasn't let himself get troubled by that. He is a strong cat, in both body and mind, but he is also kind to those around him. He is very loyal and tries to be as helpful as he can to his clan, but is also very easily distracted, which is one of his bad points. He also is quite confident though this is not always a good thing as this and his curiosity had nearly lead him to his death. Due to a disaster he witnessed there as an apprentice, he has also got a fear of the thunder path, and avoids the place as often as he can.

Full History :
Duskpelt was born a lone kit in the ShadowClan nursery to a mottled calico queen called Flowerfur. His father was Silverfoot. A large black cat with one silver paw. As a kit he would play near the nursery with three other kits that were sharing the nursery. They would often playfight and make up games among themselves. But these kits were 2 months older than Duskkit and when they became apprentices he was left alone. He would spend most of his time outside the nursery, watching the warriors come in and out of the camp, and he would sometimes see his friends, though they were kept quite busy with their duties. He was left to wonder what lay outside of the camp and one day got up the courage to try venturing outside. He crept away whilst his mother slept and reached the camp entrance. But before he could get any further, his father came past, on his way to train his apprentice. The old tom took him back to his mother and he was given a long lecture on how dangerous his little adventure could have been if he had made it out. When he reached 6 moons, he was made an apprentice to a young warrior she-cat called Willowwhisker. He was then named Duskpaw. He loved his training sessions with Duskpaw and showed promise as a figher. He was also showing good skill in his hunting. But his one fault was that he would get easily distracted and even the sound of a bird calling could make him forget about his task.

Willowwhisker told him that he could never be a warrior if this didn't change. He tried hard, but still could not manage it. WillowWhisker carried on complaining about it and one day, fed up, Duskpaw wandered off. He carried on walking, driven ahead blindly by his anger, frustration and annoyance. He didn't know where he was going, so deep was he in his own thoughts. Only when he heard the screech of a monster ahead of him did he come back to the real world. In horror he realized he stood in the middle of the thunderpath. His instincts told him to run, but his legs wouldn't let him. Then, just as the monster was about to hit, he was thrown off the thunderpath. In a daze he looked up to see the monster go by. But the next thing he saw was worse than he could have imagined. In the middle of it lay Flowerfur, her eyes glazed and her body bleeding. Dustpaw raced towards her and dragged her off the path. Then he lay down beside her, his muzzle in her fur. A while later he stood again and took his mother back to the clan, knowing her death was all his fault.

He had been saved. But she had payed the ultimate price. His father died shortly after Duskpelt became a warrior. He was told it had been an accident on the thunderpath. They had been walking nearby on patrol and a monster had come by. They'd paid it little attention as they were not crossing, but it came off the path. None of the cats had a time to move, but only one was killed, ploughed down by the beast. The place had claimed his only kin. Duskpelt couldn't help worrying that they had somehow upset starclan, and this had been their punishment. To this day he tries to keep away from the thunderpath, only going there when for the need of the clan.
