Appearance

Short Description :
A very light gray spotted tabby she-cat with pale hazel eyes and a sharp tongue
Long Description :
Hushpad has the signature coat of an Ocicat, a vague pattern of light spots and strips stretching from the tip of her ears through the length of her tail. In the pitch of night, her fur seems to glow against the darkness, a sight that leaves many (mainly males) in faint awe. She is naturally small and slender, but not skinny- lean, lithe and tough...and though unmistakably young, she already has a battle-hard sense to the way she moves and in her ability to take in every detail. Her eyes are a majestic, but dull, gold-hazel, and might be referred to as deer eyes if there was not something lethal glinting inside them, something that reveals the natural predator. They seem to shimmer with the glint of darkness rather then light, and are likely the one feature that gives her away on a late night hunt. Her tail seems to be longer then most as she raises it lavishly for the toms to admire and, despite her age, the inner lining of her ear remains the soft pink of a newborn kit. Concerning her namesake, there seems to be something unique about either her paws or the way she walks, as she never seems to make much noise when she moves.
Personality

StarClan must have had a different soul in mind for this young cat when she joined the forest, for her current in no way reflects her pelt. Hushpad knowingly possesses her sleek, lustrous pelt, gleaming with the nights touch, but rarely cares as she desires the role of a warrior. This young she-cat has always despised her pelt for the first impression it inflicted on others. It was said she looks elegant, beautiful and wise, and she hates it. In her younger days, she went to great lengths to dirty the purity of her pelt with soil and ash, but nonetheless, a dip in the river saw it clean again. Though she still desired the dark pelts of some of her clan mates, she has learned the strengths of this pure appearance, both in and out of battle. Knowing well enough that her presence is a sight for the toms, she enjoys flirting, teasing, and rising their hopes, lifting her tail towards the sky to twist, turn, and catch their eyes. Since her birth, Hushpad had been a natural smart-alack, often mouthing off to her mother and mentor with a thorn-sharp tongue, and though she still suffers from it, she is now more careful about whom its directed at and in which situations it is used. Her mentor and mother has had a difficult time with her training as she deliberately disobeyed orders. In fact, she seemed to enjoy her stubbornness. (A trait that still exist to a lesser extent.)

Full History :
Hushpad's history begins with her mother, a well-known white loner that made her home on the edge of Riverclan territory, in an abandon twoleg nest. This she-cat had once been a member of the clan she dwelled by, an apprentice by the name of Frostpaw. She had decided early in her training that she had no patient for clan life and took the role of a loner. Despite her insistent departure from the clans, she remained close to watch over her upcoming brother, Birchpaw, still in his apprentice training. It was only moons later that she made her presence known to the whole of RiverClan again. Hushpad was born to the now full-grown loner called Frost, never to know the name of her father. It was in early newleaf that her mother realized the kit would not likely survive the cold season without a warm den or a steady supply of milk, and it was obvious to her she could not keep her kit warm and hunt for food at the same time. Her kit would die.

RiverClan had seemed to reluctantly accept the loners presence, and with any luck, they may accept the doomed kit. The newleaf had gone well thus far for the clan as none of the chills had frozen the wide river in their territory, and the clan eat well. If only she could acquired her brothers assistance. From afar, Frost had watch as her brother, Birchclaw, became the loyal warrior hed always wanted to be, careful to always be mere inspiration and not a hindrance. Now that was going to change. Convincing her brother that his niece faced death without his help, the warrior carried the kit back to Riverclan camp in his jaws, pleading to his leader upon his return. It was not long after that the clan found Hushpads mother drowned by the river and, clearly without a home to return to, Hushpad was reluctantly accepted. But fate was not done with its malicious acts upon her history. The daring young she-cat, quick to break surrogate mothers rules, raced from the nursery one morning and straight out of camp, toward the dangers of the forest. While she easily found entertainment in the dead leaves and prey, the camp was frantic in its search for her. The warm weather had just set in upon the forest, and flood season was unfolding that warm day. Birchclaw, blinded in his fearful search for the youngster, had no time to see and comprehend the weakened state of a log stretching across the river as he raced to cross. Dragged under with the current, his body was never found and he was presumed dead. Ironically, Stormkit (Hushpad) was found just outside the camp walls, tired and mewing for her mother. The adventure had been a fruitless waste of energy that cost her the life of her uncle. But Hushpad was still young, too young to fully realize that the tom never showed up to look in on her again. And because of her age, it was decided not to tell her of the tragic death of her mother and uncle. She would be raised as a clan cat, never to be told of her familys tragic death.

It was during her apprentice ceremony that she received the new title of Hushpaw, as her quick, silent tread had been noted by some of the clan. To this day, Hushpad will swear before Starclan that her surrogate mother is her biological mother, and that her siblings are her blood. Of course, she has heard about the tom known as Birchclaw, as the clan ocasionally brings up his name, but she believes him to have been simply another warrior that was once a part of her clan.
