A large, longhaired silver blue tabby she-cat with golden-green eyes
Long Description :
Maelstrom is a very large she-cat with blue-silver fur and tabby markings that swirl through her coat. Her fur is medium-long and thick, though quite soft to the touch. Her fur is longer on her neck, chest, belly, and the backs of her legs than it is on her back. Maelstrom has a well-balanced, muscular frame, ending in a tail that is long, bushy, and plumed.
Maelstrom's head is broad and angular with a square-shaped muzzle and high cheekbones. Her wide-set ears are large, tufted, and heavily-furred. Her paws are large and round, and there is even fur between her toes. Her golden-green eyes are large and round. Maelstrom's collar is black and comfortable, with a small capsule attached to it rather than a bell.

Personality
Maelstrom is very bright and usually relaxed in her activities. Though she does try to keep up a level of dignity, Maelstrom is rarely snobbish. She enjoys the company of familiars, though she rarely demands their attention. To complete strangers, if she's on her own, Maelstrom might do her best to be daunting.
If she is with others, Maelstrom may be more inviting. Her feelings are usually clear, but Maelstrom can be moody and harsh if she gets worked up enough. She can and will hold grudges, then silently stew her wrath and unleash it like a storm. However, Maelstrom can also be very gentle and playful, and she's mellowed with age. She greatly enjoys basking in the sun and the freedom that her owners give her. If left to her own devices, Maelstrom will find ways to entertain herself. She also loves to hear stories, and she will listen to anything from the silly actions of humans to the tales of the wild cats who stalk the forest. |

In the spring, four kits were born to the queen Tia and her mate Jack. After an affinity for the sea that was so near their owners' countryside home in the faraway land of England, Jack and Tia's daughters were named Tempest, Maelstrom, Calypso, and Isla. With their owners at their sides, Tia and Jack raised their kits in a very comfortable lifestyle, entertaining them with play and stories. While many of Jack's stories came from nature and the things around them, Tia preferred to tell her daughters tales that had been recited countless times by her owners.
Shortly after the kits' sixth week, the day came for the four to be taken to new, carefully-chosen homes. The familiar smell of saltwater would vanish from Maelstrom's senses as she went to her new home, but her new owners would do their best to make sure that Maelstrom's life was just as good as it had been back with her English family. For Maelstrom, the remainder of kithood was pure bliss and fun. Her owners took great measures to make sure that she was never feeling bored or left out. They also took great measures to ensure that Maelstrom never got out of the house. After many failed attempts by Maelstrom, when she was a year old, Maelstrom's owners took the eager she-cat outside on a lead and let her roam about. Maelstrom remembers this as one of most exciting memories. Along with the usual walks, Maelstrom's owners eventually let her go out on her own. Their reluctance to do so in the past lessened as Maelstrom grew older, and Maelstrom greatly thanked them for that. At first, Maelstrom lingered close to the house and in the garden. Without the protection that her owners immediately offered just by standing beside her, being outside alone was daunting. It took Maelstrom a while to finally move beyond her garden. Her first exploration into another yard gave Maelstrom an encounter with a dog. It had just been a little dog, but its loud barks and growls were enough to send Maelstrom back to her garden. The next time she went into that garden, Maelstrom managed to hold her ground against the dog and, thanks to her thick fur, size, and lungs, caused it to back down. Another venture around the gardens proved embarrassing when Maelstrom, hoping to try her luck at playing with tiny fish, fell into a small pond and was chased away by its angry keeper. That afternoon, Maelstrom's owners were perplexed as to why she had come back soaked. Maelstrom currently lives in a peach-colored house with her owners. The house has a white fence that is picket in the front and becomes a taller and flatter fence in the back, surrounding a tasteful garden. During the Moon of Long Sun (2007), Maelstrom was taken to the vet by her owners to get spayed, as her owners didn't want her to come home with an unwanted pregnancy. Recently, Maelstrom dropped from the ranks of the Cats of Camelot, citing doubt about being truly cut out for it. She still pays homage to Pendragon and his kingdom though, at least at face value. |
