Long Description :
Oakclaw is a stocky, heavily built tom. His large body is coated with dark brown stripes outlined with a lighter colored brown. He has small white paws and a white blotch that goes from his nose to the bottom of his chest. He has a thick fluffy tail that is dark brown with even darker brown stripes, amber colored eyes and very sharp claws, reflecting his namesake.

Personality
Oakclaw is very strongly opinionated and ambitious, and passionate about what he sets his heart on. He is rash and hotheaded, although those emotions have abated somewhat due to recent events. Oakclaw can be charming and entertaining among his peers. He is a smooth talker, and he has talked his way out of some of his problems.
Oakclaw has few friends in ShadowClan, although he makes easy conversation with many. He is most at ease among the younger generations of ShadowClan - he relates to kits, apprentices and young warriors. His mentor Silverheart's betrayal and exile have affected Oakclaw more than he will ever admit. The revelation of her actions as treacherous and against the forest's law reflected his own deeds later on, in his secret relationship with Rosestorm. Nevertheless, Oakclaw himself never compared both cases, considering them to have completely different bases and thus not being eligible for comparison. |
History

Full History :
Oakkit was born in the Moon of First White (2005) along with his brother Ternkit. It was their parents' second litter, after the birth of Thunderface and Mudpaw to Ibisflight and Fourclaw. The newborn tom was named for the thick blotches of oak colored fur on his spine.
For Oakkit's first couple of moons, he spent his time rumbling around the nursery trying to gain the art of standing up and getting around. He soon got a little strength in his paws and would continuously flounder around the nursery. On his fourth moon, when he had gained full control of his walking and pouncing ability, he started to venture out of the nursery and explore the camp. He quickly found his place in the camp and would frequently try to impress the warriors by trying to do apprentice work. During this time, his father, Fourclaw, was hit on the Thunderpath by a monster, yet the event didn't strike Oakkit as overwhelming. Instead, the ambitious kit redoubled his efforts to prove useful to the clan, even at that early stage of his life. Possibly the most remarkable event in their kithood was the addition of a dog pup to the ShadowClan nursery. Growing up with Dogkit as his playmate, Oakkit developed a tendency for rough playfights. As most kits, he yearned to be the best warrior his clan ever had, and badgered warriors, elders and queens for stories and make-do training sessions. At six moons of age, he was apprenticed alongside Ternkit, and the two brothers were renamed Slashpaw and Blizzardpaw. Their mentors, respectively, were Silverheart and Ravenwing. Just a few moons older than the Markedkit, Slashpaw joined the communal life of the clans soon after the end of the Great War. With rivalries and dissension still running high among the clans, he watched as upheaval rocked the forest and the clans settled into peace after the false prophecy of the medicine cats. His apprentice moons rolled by smoothly, with the company of Blizzardpaw and Mousepaw, another ShadowClan apprentice - and Dogkit. The loss of his canine friend affected Slashpaw deeply, since he had grown to regard the dog as a clanmate and a trusted friend, one of the few to cope with his aggressive play-fights. As time wore on, Slashpaw walked closer to his warrior ceremony, and was eagerly waiting for that day to come for several months. Said day came during his fifteenth moon, when both him and Blizzardpaw received their warrior names - respectively, Oakclaw and Blizzardfury. In later moons, Oakclaw gradually grew closer to Rosestorm, a ThunderClan she-cat. Their secret meetings started during Leaf-bare, with Rosestorm finding Oakclaw hunting in ThunderClan territory. Since then, they regularly met in the woods of ThunderClan, away from prying eyes - and Rosestorm became pregnant and stopped visiting him. Oakclaw was saddened, joyful, and worried. He wasn't going to see Rosestorm anymore, he had kits, and what if someone found out their secret? In the 3rd day of the Moon of the Killingcough (2007), Oakclaw was patrolling the ShadowClan border of the Thunderpath with Oakheart and Squirrelfur when they were ambushed by a ThunderClan patrol composed of Hopestorm, Slateshadow, Flamedust and Cloverleaf. The frantic battle that ensued resulted on the accidental killing of Slateshadow by Oakclaw. The event caused him to reel backward and reconsider the consequences of his relationship with Rosestorm. For the next moons he was troubled with guilt for the death of Slateshadow and the injuries of his clanmates. In the Moon of Cheetah's Flight (2007), Oakclaw confessed his forbidden affair to Sagepelt, who has since kept his secret. In the 5th day of the Moon of First White (2007), much to his delighted surprise, Oakclaw became Aspenpaw's new mentor, taking over from Lionheart. In the Moon of First Fishing (2008), Aspenpaw became a warrior as Aspenbright. Also, on the Moon of Ill Winds, his kits Smokepaw, Foxpaw and Owlpaw became warriors as Smokedrift, Foxbright and Owlstrike. In the Moon of First White (2008), Oakclaw participated in the battle to kill the heron. He was slain during the fight. |
