Long Description :
Reedtail was a ginger-and-white she-cat with hazel eyes, the spitting image of her father but for that she was small and slender, as her mother was. She had three white paws and a white muzzle.

Personality
Reedtail was much more aloof and independent than her other sisters, and though she tolerated her family's company, she did not delight in it as did Birchpaw or their father. She was easily bored and constantly seeking entertainment, which, during her kithood and apprenticeship, often came in the form of tormenting her sister Birchpaw.

Reedtail was born Reedkit, one of three daughters in the first litter of the RiverClan warrior Willowheart. Reedkit quickly became aware that as much as Lilykit and Birchkit didn't mind it, their family was not the standard model, and for this reason she disliked talking about them (especially her father, Splaypaw) with other cats. It didn't bother her as much when it was just her and her family, though.
When Reedkit became Reedpaw and she and her sisters joined her father in the apprentices' den, tensions began to rise for Reedpaw. She disliked being in the same den as Splaypaw, and began staying away from him more and more, even as her sisters enjoyed being able to spend more time with him. Reedpaw trained hard, hoping to get out of the apprentices' den as soon as possible to avoid the daily reminder of her origins which Splaypaw provided. Reedpaw's dedicated training did not speed her warrior ceremony. She took her warrior name at twelve moons, with her sister Lilypaw. Being able to distance herself from Splaypaw helped the newly-named Reedtail come to terms with him, and, with the encouragement of her sisters, she began to grow a little closer to him and even to her mother, Willowheart. When her sisters urged her to join them and their parents in a little family gathering one summer's day, Reedtail agreed. This gathering went horribly wrong, however, when a wildfire sparked to life in the brush. Reedtail helped Lilypelt in her attempt to rescue their family from the worst of the blaze, but it was too late for their parents and for Birchpaw. Reedtail stood vigil for her dead kin, and the next day returned to warrior duties largely unaffected. She did begin to gravitate more towards her remaining sister, however, who had been renamed Blazepelt in the aftermath of the fire. When Blazepelt took sick with the Killingcough, Reedtail made the mistake of lingering too near her before the true scope of the illness was discovered, and soon Reedtail too had caught the illness. She died within a few days of her sister. |
