It came to Kitsufox's attention how poorly documented the rolling process for litters is. To the point where it's actually somewhat disorganized on her end, and thus she's decided to finalize it down to a single document that goes straight through the process so she'll roll all litters using the same system from here on out.

Phase 1: The Litter Request

Verify for Approval

  • Verify that the edits relating to authorization by sire and dame player are in order. Decline immediately if the authorization is not handled properly.
  • Ensure both sire and dame are genotyped. Decline immediately if the genotypes are not present.
  • Verify that either the mating thread exists, or proper authorizations for off camera mating are in order. Decline if this is not in order.

If Approved

  • Decide if there are any complications
    • Rolling Rules are as follows:
~ A "normal" female will use a default of a 5% complication change on 1d100.
~ Cats between 6-12 moons or older than 40 moons are subject to a 25% chance on 1d100
~ A female will add 1% to the complication chance for every moon beyond 40, maximizing at 50%
~ Administrators may add to the complication chance as they see fit up to a maximum of 75%.
    • If a complication is rolled the following must be PMed to the player of the female:
The percentage of chance your character was assigned, with full breakdown of where it came from and why.
An explanation of the complication that resulted from the pregnancy, and the longterm effects on the character.

  • Assign the birthdate to the litter
    1. Roll 1d4. If odd, next die is considered positive. If even, next die is considered negative.
    2. Roll 1d10. Add or subtract the result from 65. This is the length of the pregnancy.

  • Assign the number of kittens in the litter.
    • Rolling Rules are as follows:
~ Cats considered by the administration to be in poor condition or in possession of Poor Fertility will have between 1 and 2 kits rolled on 1d4. Even = 1 kitten. Odd = 2 kittens.
~ All other non-domestic/semi-feral cats will be between 1 and 4 rolled on 1d4.
~ Domestic cats or Semi-ferals in good condition will have between 1 and 6 rolled on 1d6. (Administration may opt to limit the lowest number if they feel the condition of the cat and the conditions they live in warrant it up to the point where the least the litter might have is 3 kittens)

Phase 4: Kitten Rolling

Genotype Preparation

  1. Ensure that the Pheonotype Predictor is installed on your computer.
  2. Enter the parental Genotyped into the predictor.
  3. Use the predictor to get the list of possible phenotypes and carried traits.
  4. Assign sequential numbers to each of the phenotype/carried trait combinations.

Roll the following for each kitten

  1. Assign the kitten a gender by rolling 1d4. Even = female. Odd = male.
  2. Roll for chance of stillbirth on 1d100 with the odds of 5% or 40% possibility depending on mother's condition
  3. Birth Defect Chance is to be rolled.
    • Roll 1d100 with odds of 10% for a general birth defect not resulting in death or impairment.
      • If a birth defect is rolled, roll 1d6.
        ~ 1-2 = Non-impairment.
        ~ 3 = Mild impairment.
        ~ 4 = Moderate impairment.
        ~ 5 = sever impairment.
        ~ 6 = Fatal impairment.
      • If the kitten fits the following rules and no other defects have been rolled do the following:
~ If the kitten is Dominate white Roll 1d100 with odds of 25% for deafness.
~ If the kitten is dominate white or albino Roll 1d100 with odds of 25% for blindness.
  4. Assign the a genotype to the kitten using randomizer.org and the previously prepared phenotype/carried trait list to randomly select the aspects the kitten will have.
  5. Select the following items based on the kitten's ancestry:
    ~ Adult size.
    ~ Adult build.
    ~ Adult eye color.
