| Description: | Congestion is typically caused by the drainage of mucus from the cat's nose. This can be either in the form of runny dripping and drainage, or following the drainage becoming dried. Congestion interferes greatly with the ability to scent, and the deputy should be made aware of any such cases promptly so they can organize patrols appropriately. | |
| Treatment: | Little can be done for congestion other than measures being taken to help improve breathing. The best treatments involve encouraging the mucus to break up and leave the head, as the sooner it is out the sooner the cat can return to normal. | |
