Complaint: Worms
 
Human Equivalent: Roundworm or Tapeworm
 
Description: Worms is a complaint comprised of parasites taking up residence in the gut of the cat. In moderate to severe cases the worms will become visible in the stool of the patient. In milder cases the loss of condition and a growing abdomen are the only outward sign of the infection.
 
Duration: Mild: 1 to 2 days following treatment
Moderate: 3-5 days following initial treatment with follow-up treatment
Severe: A Quarter Moon or more following initial treatment with follow-up treatment
 
Treatment: Mild: Dose the patient with an appropriate herb
Moderate: Dose the patient with herbs for 2 to 3 days running (or until worms are no longer in evidence in the stool of the patient)
Severe: Dose the patient with herbs for 3 to 5 days running (or until worms are no longer in evidence in the stool of the patient)
 
Residual Effects: Mild: An extremely small chance of repeat infection
Moderate: Repeat infection is possible, but unlikely
Severe: Repeat infection is likely
 
Possible Complications: Mild: None
Moderate: There is a small possibility of blockage of the bowel
Severe: Their is a strong possibility of blockage of the bowel or additional ailments setting in due to the low condition a severe infection brings
 
Notes: This condition is contagious through contact with feces.
This condition is potentially fatal if left untreated.
