A graying caramel tabby bi-color she-cat with clouded blue eyes
Long Description :
Appletail is a graying caramel-colored tabby, with long hair and cloudy blue eyes. She has pale cream stripes, becoming more obvious on her lower sides, and blending until her underbelly is entirely cream. She has a large white tip on the end of her tail. She is missing nearly half of her right hind foot, from a badger attack when she was an apprentice. Thus, she limps horribly whenever she has to move. She bears several scars on her chest and flanks from various battles, one large one running from her shoulder almost to her left haunch, given to her in the battle that made her a warrior. There is a purplish scar on the back of her neck, from a patch of fur that was torn off by a ThunderClan warrior. Appletail also has very long whiskers.

Personality
Appletail has become grumpy in her old age, but if approached politely with a food offering, she may tell a story of some famous WindClan warrior. She dislikes loud noises and loud cats. She has a habit of rubbing the stump of her right hind foot against the ground, as if scratching an itch which doesn't exist. She has only a little trouble hearing, and slightly more trouble seeing, and any cat who doesn't speak up and get close enough for her to see him will gain her distrust. Appletail has a great fear of badgers and Twolegs, though she will never admit it to anyone.

Full History :
Appletail was born as Applekit, to Dustypelt of Windclan. She grew up normally, being a bit spoiled by her parents because she was the only kit in her litter, and she was slightly rowdy up until her apprenticeship. She was apprenticed to Pebblestripe, a gray tabby she-cat, who is long dead by now.
Applepaw was only three moons into her apprenticeship when a rogue badger broke through the camp wall and into the apprentice den. It had been chased off of Riverclan territory, sustaining several wounds, and so it was maddened with rage. It killed Skypaw, and as Applepaw was running for help, it caught her right hind paw in its mouth and bit down hard. Applepaw yowled and collapsed senseless. She survived, but lost half of her foot, and her courage against badgers would never come back. After the attack, she was much more wary and edgy. She continued her training, and was made a warrior after she fought nobly in a battle with the other Clans. Now, named Appletail, the young she-cat gradually regained a some courage and confidence. Several moons after being made a warriror, she was actually a little *overconfident*. This proved to be a bad thing; while on a patrol of their border, they encountered a Thunderclan patrol coming in the opposite direction. Foolishly, she made a taunting comment about Thunderclan cats. Of course, no Thunderclanner would let her get away with it. She and her patrol were attacked instantly, retaining scars that would last a lifetime. In the battle, a Thunderclan warrior had his teeth in the back of her neck as she tugged away, and he let go only after pulling off a patch of fur, which left a large, still-existent scar. Her patrol eventually managed to get away, and proceeded in silence back to camp. At the Windclan camp, a shamefaced Appletail was reprimanded sharply by her leader, and sentenced to two moons staying in camp. During this time, she was shunned by many cats of her Clan for her stupid actions. One warrior who didn't shun her, however, was Silverpine. He spoke kindly, not letting her get away scot-free, but not being overly angry. Appletail realized a growing attraction between herself and Silverpine. They became mates, and before the moons were up, Appletail knew she was expecting kits. She moved into the queens' den, and waited happily for her kits to be born. However, when the time came, two of her three kits were dead at birth, and the third died withing a day. Grief-stricken, Appletail turned to her mate and her parents for comfort, refusing to eat or drink anything. Her leader forced her to return to the warriors den and resume her duties, but she was weak and stunned by her loss. Time passed slowly for her, and Clan life went on normally. Eventually, she understood that life will go on, and nothing can stop it, so she suddenly found her appetite and clan loyalty once again. With a lightened heart, she happily found joy in the company of her mate, parents, and clanmates. Several moons passed, and Appletail had totally recovered from the shock of losing her kits. Then, as if by cruel design, Silverpine was killed by a monster from the Thunderpath and Appletail's aunt, Berrystain, was slain in a border raid by Riverclan. Appletail mourned for both aunt and mate for many moons after, and still mourns for them today, but she understands that there is nothing to be done but be grateful for his life with her. Appletail continued being a warrior until her fiftieth moon of age, and then she retired to the elders' den, where she was made welcome. She remained in the elders' den until her death on the eleventh day of the Moon of the Killingcough. |
