Long Description :

Jaybird is small and skinny for his age, with thin legs and a narrow face. He bears a striking resemblance to his father Graystream, much to his distaste, who had the same round eyes and jet black fur that sticks up all over, but he has his mother Sparrowfire's piercing emerald green eyes. His body is thin, and his legs make him a bit taller than a normal cat. His tail is long. His eyes are the brightest part of his whole body.

Personality

A true warrior, Jaybird is daring, resourceful, quick-thinking, and courageous. Though he was not exceptionally gifted when it came to learning as an apprentice (except for hunting), he is proving to be a very powerful warrior. He has been accused of 'acting the hero' and having a 'saving other cats thing,' but it is his innate sense of duty and responsibility that defines who he really is. Jaybird is deeply loyal to his friends. He has a generous nature, especially towards his cousins, whom he came to consider as his best friends, until the accident that took their lives away from him. He doesn't hold grudges (except, perhaps, when it came to his love, who broke it off with him) and has a strong sense of integrity and fairness. Although Jaybird was the hero of his family for a short while, in some ways he is just a typical young tom-cat, particularly when it comes to she-cats. He doesn't know how to react around love-struck she-cats, and stammers and blushes around she-cats he has a crush on. When he got older and began his first relationship of sorts, Jaybird became increasingly bemused and frustrated by the inner workings of the she-cat mind. Jaybird can be very strong-minded and stubborn. When he becomes fixated on an idea it can be difficult to persuade him to think otherwise, even if it is in his own best interest to do so. He has a tendency to be secretive, especially about things he would be better off sharing with friends. For such a kind and gentle cat, Jaybird can have quite a temper. He is prone to acting rashly, without much thought for consequences. However, he has a hard time following through when given the opportunity to retaliate against those who have seriously wronged him.

Full History :

Graystream was a dark gray tom with golden amber eyes. Sparrowfire was a dark tortoiseshell she-cat with emerald green eyes. Their relationship was in trouble from the start. Graystream was a slick, sharp-tongued tom-cat who held no love for the she-cat. All he wanted was to pass his good genes on through her. Sparrowfire thought differently. She thought he had a heart of gold, as he always put on a false attitude around her. Poor Sparrowfire was only seventeen moons when she announced her love for him, while Graystream was thirty-seven moons old. Graystream held a small amount of love for the she-cat, so he agreed to it. Sparrowfire soon learned she was expecting his kits. Sparrowfire went through her pregnancy smoothly, and when her single kit was born, she was over-joyed. She named her black tom-kit Jaykit. However, when Jaykit was a mere few days old, tragedy struck. Graystream, who was hunting alone one day in the woods, was killed and eaten by a fox. His body was never found. Sparrowfire was depressed and died before her kit's apprenticeship. When six moons came, Jaykit was apprenticed and became Jaypaw. He wasn't the best student, but excelled in hunting, and he brought back three large mice after his hunting assessment.

Soon, Jaypaw soon entered a new stage in his life: a crush on a young she-cat. However, she was in love with an older apprentice, and Jaypaw realized he had no chance with her. At twelve moons of age, was made a warrior, Jaybird. His remaining cousin, Leafpaw, was made a warrior as well, by the name Leaffeather.

At fourteen moons of age, Leaffeather went out hunting by herself. A fox found her, and she died the same way Jaybird's father did. Her body was found by a patrol, and when they brought the news back to camp, Jaybird grew depressed. He soon got over it, however, and was a warrior of ThunderClan until the Killingcough took his life on the Moon of Running Prey (2007).
