Long Description :
Having grown into her body, Reedwhisker is no longer the small ball of black, white and orange fluff born two winters ago. She is a fully grown she-cat, with legs long for her build and a streamlined body to fit her transition into adulthood. Her pelt, long furred and always matted due to her commonly wet and often cold living conditions, is a mixed patchwork of orange and black, situated on a white base. Classic tabby markings appear if a cat wishes to look close enough. Her eyes complement the orange patches on her pelt; they are a rich copper, and resemble the leaves on the trees during leaf-fall. Reedwhisker's body frame is slightly stocky, and her face is somewhat flat; her ears are also a bit smaller than the norm. She has a scar running across her face from her carelessness one morning on patrol, which caused her to run into an overhanging branch left over from the previous night's storm.

Personality
As a young kit, Reedwhisker was a small bundle of sensible curiosity, playfulness, and a small dose of timidity. Although she displayed an unnatural fear of her surroundings, preferring to stay away from things as small as her own shadow, she still believed (and continues to do so) that her Clan was the best out of all four, due to, in her opinion, no other Clan having the rich diet and unique surroundings of her own. As she grew older, Reedwhisker began to develop more of a thinker's mind, with questions of why certain things happened and how her world and StarClan would react to it; however, after numerous occasions of what the growing Reedwhisker would call dangerous thinking (as her thoughts often went beyond the grasp of her own mind, which often scared her), she grew slightly less interested in why things happened, and learned to merely sit back and accept them. She still remains a rather intelligent cat, in her own words, and although said words are rarely voiced, she would rather not be thought of as a stupid cat, and will continued to voice her opinion when matters of tactics and plans are being spoken of.
As she grew into feline adolescence, Reedwhisker's self-confidence gradually grew less and less, almost to the point where the she-cat believed she could not do anything right, no matter how simple the task; this was largely caused by the bout of inner depression her sister's death caused -- witnessing Birdtail drown right in front of her eyes did Reedwhisker no good. Another trait present in her personality is her lack of a sense of humor -- this has been present in her since she was a small kit, when she frequently could not recognize the difference between what was funny and what was not, and was often disciplined by her mother for it. In the present day, Reedwhisker often worries that a joke will be made one day and she will not get it, causing the teller of said joke to dislike her for her inability to reason it -- but this fear, so far, has remained unfounded. As such, the she-cat tends to avoid conversation; the activity itself is not a disliked one, but she does tend to stay away from any cats who might seem argumentative, confrontational, or just plain aggressive. When in the right mood, she'll gladly join a friendly conversation, albeit not as an active participant. As of the current leafbare, Reedwhisker's personality has changed quite a bit; her sister Ashleaf and friends Ravenwillow, Walnutpaw, and Minnowleaf have largely played a part in this. The she-cat no longer speaks with a severe stutter as she did just a few short moons ago, and she has learned to be less afraid of both her Clanmates and the world surrounding her. The depression surrounding her since her sister's death has mostly disappeared, and through Walnutpaw and Ashleaf alike she has learned to be more confident in her own abilities; Ashleaf has taught her to not feel ashamed at having a higher ranked Clanmate as a sibling, and that she doesn't have to prove herself to anyone in any way. Minnowleaf and Ravenwillow have allowed her to gain the ability to trust and have given her close friends. As of the Moon of Long Nights, the second one she has witnessed, Reedwhisker is still somewhat timid and quiet (she will never be an outgoing cat), but her personality has largely changed for the better; she is no longer wracked with guilt over not being able to save one sister or prove herself to the other. |

Full History :
Born to Brackenclaw and Amberfoot one cold morning in mid-leafbare, Birdkit and Reedkit's birth didn't cause much of a commotion. Their parents were both average warriors, neither having accomplished anything truly amazing in their lives. Reedkit was a normal kit, and although a bit timid, showed a healthy curiosity for things around her.
Apprenticed during greenleaf of that year, alongside her sister, Birdpaw, Reedpaw was placed under the tutelage of a tom named Brushclaw,; he was steady-minded and respected by Reedpaw's own father; in her family's opinion, he was a good choice. Birdpaw was given to a she-cat named Pebbleheart. Reedpaw went through her training relatively normally and uneventfully; she didn't particularly excel at anything (mainly because she was too unsure of herself to believe she could do well), and she lagged behind. Because of this, her warriorhood was delayed, due to the young she-cat failing evaluations. The defining moment in Reedwhisker's life was a chilly day during the Moon of Melting Waters. She and her sister, Birdtail (who had been made a warrior before her), a red tabby, were on a patrol with Reedpaw's mentor and Birdtail's former mentor. Reedpaw and Birdtail (mainly Birdtail, as Reedpaw protested entirely) made the decision to go fishing, sneaking away and leaving Reedpaw's mentor behind. The riverbank was a bit muddy, as it had rained a few days previously; the current was also quite bad that day. Birdtail, having, in her mind, mastered the art of fishing, sat down and looked for any prey that could be swimming by that day. Reedpaw stayed a bit away in the brush, mainly as a lookout, because Birdtail thought of her sister as too nervous to be of any use fishing. About ten minutes after they started, Reedpaw could only watch in horror as her sister leaned in to grab a fish, slipped, and was carried away. She stared in horror and shock for a few moments, before her senses caught up with her and she raced back the way they came to find the two adults, who had been looking for them the entire time. Hyperventilating and panicking, she only stood, fur bristling, as her mentor reprimanded her and asked where her sister was. She only led them to the spot, and both came to the same conclusion after a search of the area led to no results. Nothing of much interest happened for the next few moons; of course, the trauma of seeing her sister fall and drown in the river was burned into her mind, but she kept it inside, refusing to share her feelings with any cat that bothered to ask. Her warrior ceremony was already delayed, as the young she-cat had failed her evaluations; when she was made a warrior at fourteen moons old, as Reedwhisker, her personality has only gone more to the extreme, as the she-cat is still not entirely sure of herself. In the Moon of Tiger's Wrath she was slain by a fox. |
