Long Description :
The brown mackerel tabby's long pelt was white save for his ears and tail. Abnormally long white whiskers jutted from his toes, on either side of his pink nose, and above his eyes. These eyes, like those of his namesake, were a sharp, predatory yellow. Of average size and build, he was muscular and athletic in his prime. A large ridged scar marked one of his shoulders; it was the most conspicuous of a collection of battle scars.

Personality
Skyfalcon was a cynical tom whose faith was in the warrior code and in his clan, not in any actual living cat. Unless he'd known them his entire life, he was aloof and mistrustful of others. A cat with a worldly air to him, Skyfalcon's view on life was practical, if stark. Sometimes bleak, sometimes downright pessimistic, he knew all too well the flaws inherent in every-cat, not least himself, and thus didn't have high expectations of others. He faced the inevitable deaths with a philosophical, resigned acceptance.
Though sometimes gloomy, Skyfalcon was loyal to the bone. He'd sacrifice his life for his Clan, and eventually did.

History

Full History :
Like most born in the Great War, Skyfalcon's loyalty to his Clan and the warrior code was unshakable. While never an idealist, he soon became wise to the Forest's harshness as well as to the fallibility of his race. Skyfalcon was named thus after he brought down a falcon at the Northplains one lean leaf-bare. It ambushed him from the sky, leaving a scar on his shoulder he would forever bear with pride. Nearby clanmates helped subdue the falcon, but he delivered the final killing blow, and brought the downed falcon to camp in triumph.
Skyfalcon never sought to be a father, only a warrior who did his best for ShadowClan. But Mountainthunder, a clanmate with whom even the jaded Skyfalcon was impressed, thought that one of the best ways they could serve their clan was to provide it with new life (from good stock, too!). So they did, and Skykit, named after his father, was born in the Moon of Leopard's Rest (2006). Skyfalcon liked Mountainthunder, and didn't mind Skykit, who'd eventually be named Skydancer, but the impersonal tom didn't feel the need to keep in close contact with either one. He was . . . detached from his family, and never felt like a father or mate. When Skydancer was 26 moons old, and his sire was 48, a swiftly aging Skyfalcon retired to the elder's den. Life had been hard on the tom, and the moons of hard battling, wounds, and sickness had caught up with him sooner than he'd have liked. A weakening Skyfalcon couldn't hope to last the winter, and he knew it. Faithful to the end, he put younger clanmates first and starved to death in the Moon of Tiger's Wrath (2009) before the first thaw. |
