Appearance

Short Description :
A lean, van-marked torbie she-cat
Long Description :
Windwhisker is fairly small but not unbelievably tiny. Her legs are long for her body and her form is long and lean. Her muzzle is narrow and her ears are a bit large with small tufts on the tips of them. Her eyes are a dark, twinkling green. Windwhisker is a torbie she-cat. Most of her fur is silky white, but there are splotches with mottled gray-and-brown tabby markings. The largest splashes are on her back—which stretches down to her right side—on her long tail, and on her head. The backs of her ears are a very dark brown, and the right half of her muzzle is white. Her chest, paws, and stomach are all white.
Personality

Windwhisker is usually a cool, calm, and collected she-cat. She normally acts distant from the rest of the Clan, even if she is extremely loyal to it. She is often found curled up in a quiet area of the camp, watching the activity silently. She doesn’t like the normal buzz of activity and can be described as anti-social, but she does occasionally make friends, and these few she grows very close to.

With friends, Windwhisker is quite a bit more talkative. She’s very obedient to her higher-ranking Clanmates and doesn’t mind going on patrols with rowdy apprentices and bad-tempered warriors. She remains very tolerant when she must put up with these things, even if she doesn’t want to.

Windwhisker is a silent but efficient fighter. Her techniques in battle usually involve dodging and evading until she tires out her opponent and can get a few good paw-swipes in. She likes to nurse her own wounds unless they become infected, and has a slight distaste for medicine cats in general.

Windwhisker can be friendly toward toms, but she remains quiet around them. She’s never really longed for a mate, but a friend. She pretends to be annoyed by kits and seems to freeze when they bound up or around her, but deep down she adores the little ones.

Full History :
Orangestripe of ShadowClan was quite a bad-tempered tom, one with a sharp, sarcastic tongue and a dislike for any that tried to force him around. He was known for leaving in the middle of the day and coming back with prey before leaving again. No cat really liked him for quite a while, until Fleetfoot came around. She had been his late brother's apprentice and often giggled a little too loudly at his retorts when he and his brother argued. She adored him, but he didn’t like her one bit.

Orangestripe was hunting around Carrionplace, when a lone rogue suddenly attacked him. His face was ripped from the base of his right ear to the left side of his muzzle-tip. He would have died if Fleetfoot had not found him and taken him to the medicine cat. He finally began to warm up to the idea of being her friend, and quite a few moons later Fleetfoot moved into the nursery, pregnant.

Sharing the den with a bony white queen named Egretfeather, Fleetfoot gave birth to a single healthy young cat. Smiling as the tiny torbie nuzzled against her dark brown stomach for milk, she decided to give the name Mottledkit to her newborn. Less than a day later, Egretfeather kitted a single white tom, but sadly died in the process of delivering another kit, who was stillborn. The motherless scrap—named Whitekit shortly after birth—was gladly adopted by Fleetfoot.

For three moons, Mottledkit’s life was very uneventful. She romped around the camp with her adopted sibling—who she always believed was her real brother—and caused general mischief to a few of the other ShadowClan cats. One late newleaf day, she found that Orangestripe was leaving the camp once again. She followed him, running down to Carrionplace. Curiosity aroused, she padded close to the rubbish heap and pawed at a lump, to see that it hid a very large, brown rat. The rodent attacked her, and she managed to escape the first few bites. Orangestripe broke the rat’s spine in his teeth and walked back to camp, barely looking over his shoulder to see if Mottledkit was following. She shuddered, and became very quiet for the rest of her kit days spent in the camp and never far from the nursery.

At six moons, she received the name Windpaw in honor of her speed, and her brother became Whitepaw. She was mentored by a friendly tomcat who went through her lessons slowly until she was around nine moons. Later, during the war, Whitepaw was killed by an enemy Clan cat. Windpaw decided that she could have helped him, but she was too frozen in fear and had to run away to escape injury.

Fleetfoot and Orangestripe were stunned by the news, and Fleetfoot went to retrieve the body. She may not have died, but she didn’t come back. Orangestripe was left with his daughter for another three moons, and he sat through that winter without much feeling. Windpaw had learned to remain quiet and keep away from the rest of ShadowClan life. As she matured into an elegant, small, lean adult, she became more calm and tolerant instead of irritable and anti-social.

Windpaw proved herself to be a warrior only through a long time of training, and didn't do so in a major battle. She received the name Windwhisker. More recently, she has sat in the background through the many deaths in ShadowClan. She has grown more depressed on the inside, although she doesn’t show it. Even if she didn’t interact with him, she has had a slight interest in the dog-kit.

On the seventh day of the Moon of Long Nights (2006), she was struck by a monster on the Thunderpath while fleeing from the Fisher.
