Accepted Application from Sterben

Application Status: Accepted
1.) "I am submitting this application in trust. My first character was approved July 5th, 2012"

Application type - A.
I plan for Hailpaw to, for the most part, keep her current personality. She will remain overly confindent and her ambition will develop as well as her thirst for knowledge. Hailpaw will also develop a great deal of stubbornness, never giving up on pleasing and impressing Heronflight. Viewing her mentor as a cat to look up to, Hailpaw might even grow up to be a tad bit like her.

2.) Hailpaw listened carefully to Heronflight, studying the herbs. Blackcough? Easy, she thought, whiskers twitching up in a feline smile. Hailpaw loved these little tests Heronflight gave her every now and then. Though she might not always get them right, it gave her a small sense of satisfaction when she did.

"Dandelion and raspberry leaves can both be used. Raspberry leaves reduce the fever that comes with Blackcough, and dandelion leaves help a feverish cat sleep. As for Basil, it is used to treat snake bites and ease pregnancies; useless against Blackcough."Hailpaw waited for her mentor's response, certain that her answer was correct.
3.) Hailpaw had been taking a small nap when she heard a feeble, weak voice calling for her mentor. She awoke and brought herself to her paws at once, heart racing as she detected the unmistakeable scent of blood in the air. This must be bad! Hailpaw grabbed a wad of cobwebs, a bit of mouse fluff, and some poppy seeds, then quickly padded towards Robintail. "Heronflight is out," she mewed to the injured tom, trying to sound as calm as possible so she would not spook her patient.

She took one look at Robintail and knew this was something no cat could have done. The way his flesh was torn and leg awkwardly bent could only mean one thing: the warrior had been trapped in the twolegs' Silver Jaws. Though he had managed to free himself, his injured foreleg could very well be in risk of amputation. And it was all up to her now!

Hailpaw carefully wrapped the large wad of cobwebs around Robintail's leg, along with the mouse fluff. That would stop fatal loss of blood. Then, she held the poppy seeds in Robintail's reach so he could easily lick them up. It would be a risk to leave her patient to go and fetch the rest of the necessary herbs. And it was a risk Hailpaw was not willing to take. Instead, she searched the camp for someone -- anyone -- to assist her.
4.) Hailpaw had been awake since early in the morning. Poking her head out the medicine cat's den, she breathed in the fresh air. It was heavy with the scent of growing things; perfect for going herb-hunting. Hailpaw padded out the den, slightly annoyed at how the herb stock never seemed to last.

Looking around, she decided to eat a small meal before heading out. All the while, the list of herbs she needed to collect replayed in her mind. Horsetail, Willow, Borage, Thyme, Chickweed . Hailpaw dragged a small water vole from the fresh-kill pile. She settled down to eat, biting into her piece of prey. Horsetail, Willow, Borage, Thyme, Chickweed. Got it. She decided it'd be best to find another cat to take with her. That way, more herbs could be carried at once.
5.) Althought I am still quite new, I think I would make a valuable addition to the CoSC staff. I know my way pretty well around the site, and plan to stay for a good, long time. I can assure you that I will be on the site at least once every day, unless I'm on LOA (which will usually be fairly rare and brief). I would be more than willing to bring new ideas to the table and will always act professionally in any given situation.
