Scientific Name(s): Eptesicus fuscus,  Myotis lucifugus,  Myotis septentrionalis,  Lasiurus cinereus,  Lasionycteris noctivagans
Physical Description: Hoary bats are named for their frosted appearing fur. They have a grayish brown coat and leathery skinned wings. Their flight has a tendency to be swift and direct. They eat mostly moths, but will also eat other insects.
Physical Statistics: Length: 5 - 6 Inches (77 - 87 Millimeters)
Weight: 0.7 - 1.2 Ounces (20 - 35 Grams)
Wingspan: 13 - 17 Inches (33 - 40 Centimeters)
Behavior: Hoary bats spend most of the day roosting in trees, usually at the edge of a clearing. Their coat blends well with tree bark and makes them difficult to see. They emerge to hunt late in the evening to hunt, and they fly at treetop level over clearings, fields, and streams. They sometimes migrate to warming places during Leaf-bare when the weather gets cold.
Social Organization: Solitary
Approval Level*: None; Hoary bats are common in the forested regions of the forest.
Kill Difficulty: Low; Hoary bats are larger than most bats and will bite viciously at their enemies if necessary, but they would much rather fly away than fight and very rarely do severe damage to cats.
Hunting Difficulty: Advanced; Hoary bats are well camouflaged in the trees they roost in, and they are extremely difficult to catch when they are flying high above the ground at night.
Food Quality: Medium; Hoary bats are larger and have more meat than most bats, but are still quite small and not particularaly nutritious, though more nutrition can be found in them than the average bat.
*Some creatures require approval to appear in RP. This is to make sure the Admins and Mods who need to know are fully aware of a species currently active in their area.
These ratings are mainly for those creatures that are uncommon or pose a threat of some sort to the cats.
