The following is a detailed explanation of the various levels that are appropriate for many Prey fields to aid those creating prey documentation for the website. Any questions or confusion should be discussed on the talk page.

Approval

None

Most prey species will have no approval required. This is to be used for common creatures without implications about the environmental situations.

Moderator

Moderator approval is required for the appearance of rare creatures, or those of moderate implication for environmental situations in the game.

Administrator

Administrators approval is required for the most rare creatures, those of high danger to the cats, or for those that have severe implications as to what's happening in the greater scheme of the game.

Kill Difficulty

Low

Creatures with a low kill difficulty are those that lack weapons or size to defend them. This should not factor in the difficulty of the catch (such would be hunting difficulty) but rather the actual killing act.

Moderate

Creatures of Moderate kill difficulty are those that possess size or a moderate form of weaponry for defense.

High

Creatures with a high kill difficulty are those that are either very large to the point of it being potentially prohibitive to hunting them, or those with weapons that can be used aggressively to fight back and potentially kill a cat. Pack tactics or other similar battle advantages should be factored in.

Hunting Difficulty

General

Creatures assigned a "General" hunting difficulty are those that any fully trained warrior (even a newly made one) is able to hunt.

Advanced

Creatures assigned an "Advanced" hunting difficulty are those that, while taught to all warriors, require a great deal of practice to perfect the art of hunting. Most fully trained warriors with a year of experience in the field should be able to hunt these.

Specialties

Specialty - Item indicates that prey is only hunt-able by those familiar with the specialty in question. Some specialties are restricted to certain clans. Hunting a species when you do not have the specialty cuts your ability to hunt it by at least 50%.
APPROVED SPECIALTIES
Bolded clan abbreviations in the super-text indicate a clan in which that specialty is considered an essential part of apprentice upbringing.
Bats - Bats (TC, RC, WC, SC)
Chase - Rabbits & Hares (TC, RC, WC)
Duck - Waterfowl Hunting (TC, RC, SC)
Fish - Hunting Fish (TC, RC, SC)
Group Flying - Geese, Herons, Ect (TC, RC, WC, SC)
Group Land - Wookchucks, Ect (TC, RC, WC, SC)
Raptor - Hunting large raptors (TC, RC, WC, SC)
If you think a specialty has been excluded from this list that should be here, bring it up on the talk page.

Food Quality

Low

Creatures of low food quality lack both taste and nutrition.

Medium

Creatures of medium food quality possess either good taste or good nutrition.

High

Creatures of high food quality possess good taste and solid nutrition.
