Long Description :
Splaypaw was a stockily-built tomcat with a ginger tabby coat, eyes of hazel-green, and a splotch of white on his muzzle. His left forefoot had been malformed while he was still in the womb, and he walked with an uneven gait as a result of his twisted limb.

Personality
Splaypaw was a determined, affectionate cat who did not allow his disability to prevent his siring a litter even before he gained a warrior name. His relationship with Willowheart was somewhat unhealthy, as he danced on his mate's every whim and nourished her vanity and haughty nature.

History

Full History :
Though his kithood was full of the discouragements of his elders, who told him he would have no future in the Clan due to his disability, Splaykit was as happy as a kit in his situation could be. He practiced his walking and jumping often, hoping against hope that he might be able to lead at least a reasonable facsimile of a normal life.
Splaykit's wish was granted; at seven moons, he was made an apprentice as Splaypaw. Almost immediately, his eye was caught by his new denmate, a she-cat who was then known as Willowpaw. Though she scorned him, he pursued her avidly, even when she was made Willowheart and he, slowed in his training by his deformity, remained an apprentice. At long last, Willowheart decided she needed a rest from warrior duties and asked Splaypaw to sire her kits. Splaypaw, delighted, agreed. The three kits were born in due time, though Splaypaw labored on in his apprenticeship, frustrated by his body's weakness. The moons passed quickly for him, and his kits became apprentices alongside of him. Splaypaw chose to ignore the oddity of their situation and doted endlessly on his kits, spending much time with them and beginning to neglect his training somewhat. He even convinced Willowheart to get in on the family scene; she began to show some real attachment first to her kits, and then to Splaypaw. More time passed; two of Splaypaw's kits became warriors, Blazepelt and Reedtail, while his third kit was delayed in her naming by an injury sustained while training. Tragically, on a family outing in the South Field, a fire broke out which claimed Splaypaw's life as well as his mate's and two of his kits'. |
