Appearance   Short Description : A longhaired dark brown tabby bi-color tom with gray-green eyes Long Description : Wetfur is a long-haired dark brown tabby with a white muzzle, paws chest and underbelly. His eyes are gray-green. His fur is often found to be slightly bedraggled or damp from Wetpelt doing his favorite thing: swimming. One ear is missing a sizable chunk, the only lasting relic of any injuries received during the Great War.

Personality     Wetfur's is a patient, calm, yet cheerful personality. He can put up with quite a lot without losing his temper, and can keep a fairly cool head in most calamities. Although he is solidly loyal to RiverClan, he believes understanding one's enemies helps you gain the advantage. Likewise, he believes that knowing as much as he can about events - big and small - around the Clan can help him function more effectively in it. This quest for knowledge and understanding can lead him to be somewhat intrusive at times. However, he is not a gossip, as that is not the driving force for his curiosity. His sense of humor can be very dry at times. The main exception to his unperturbed demeanor is when he is required to do an activity he particularly likes (particularly swimming), he will attack it with almost kit-like enthusiasm.

His birth did not cause too much trouble on his mother's part, although Brighttail would one day complain otherwise. He was a normal kit, displaying a healthy curiosity and a cheerful disposition. He was apprenticed under the name of Splotchpaw at the normal age of six moons to a mentor who wasted no time in telling him the advantages of keeping his eyes opened and his ears pricked, a lesson he took to heart. However, it was his first fishing lesson in which Splotchpaw learned his greatest skill. His mentor was demonstrating how to fish when the apprentice leaned over too far and fell straight into the river. His mentor rushed over to his aid, only to find Splotchpaw had instinctively flipped over onto his stomach and was paddling, abeit weakly, but paddling all the same. Swimming soon became his greatest strength and his favorite passtime, a fact that was reflected by his name when he graduated to the rank of warrior. He was given the name of Wetfur, in testimonial to all the times he had come back from fishing expeditions soaking wet from having given up on the fish and jumping into the water (Although that did not necessarily mean that he always returned emptyhanded). The Great War was still in full flow at that point, and he saw more than a few border skirmishes. After one particular battle when he was about 27 moons old, he was deemed worthy of receiving an apprentice. The apprentice, a she-cat, could not have been more different from him. Having had a near-drowning experience as a kit, she was deathly afraid of water. Wetfur found that his patience helped him greatly with her, as he took her through a slow gradual process of getting used to water again. First, he had her stand in rain puddles, then on the sandy banks of the river, slowly getting deeper in day by day as he taught her other skills as well. Eventually, she succeeded in getting over her fear enough to swim as effectively as any RiverClan cat, and even grew to like the water too. When she graduated herself, he was as proud of her as any cat. Since then, he's done his best to contribute to Clan life in every way he can. During the Moon of First Fishing, flooding occured all along the river on the ThunderClan border. Duskystar selected several cats to go on a risky patrol to get food for the Clan. On said patrol, Duskystar fell into the river, and was presumed dead. That night, Hawkmoth chose Wetfur to be the next deputy of RiverClan.
