APPEARANCE

• dark tabby - Dark and Tabby on their own (or as a pair) lack the ability to adequately establish the color of a character. Tabby is a pattern. Dark is a descriptor that can be applied to a specific color. Without an actual color word they just don't work.

HISTORY

• Cordon was born in the forest to a family of rogues and lived on his own for most of his life. - The only way that the phrase 'family of rogues' would be appropriate is if Cordon had originated from clan stock (It's not a rank here. It's a clan-word that implies being non-clan and potentially aggressive. Rogue and Loner were changed from being a rank because a cat can be a rogue to one clan and a loner to another or the like. They're fuzzy and only work from the clan perspective).

HISTORY: a pair of rogues - You seem to misunderstand. The word 'family' wasn't the issue. The word rogue is the issue. Rogue is a piece of clan vernacular. The use of that clan term implies an origin from clan cats that isn't addressed. Please either address the clan origin or change the word rogue to something else (such as 'feral cat').
