Declined Application from Wildlark

Application Status: Declined
1.) In my mind, I see Ravenblink becoming a very wise, level-headed medicine cat. Though the medicine cats don't have a particular leader when they make their journeys to the Moonstone, Ravenblink would have a quiet, steady authority over the other medicine cats, especially the younger ones, who would look up to him. I can relate to Ravenblink, being calm yet enthusiastic, so it would be easy for me to roleplay with him. I am frequently on CoSC and would make sure that he could participate in any important Clan events, such as Gatherings or a wounded cat.
2.) Ravenblink looked carefully over the three herbs, his head slightly tipped to the side as he thought over their uses. After a moment, he put his paw over the feverfew, his eyes shining with confidence. "Feverfew, naturally. The leaves can consumed to aid against fever, chills, and coughing, as well as stomach ailments."
3.) Laying down the leaves he had been stacking, Ravenblink trotted swiftly out of the medicine cat's den to see what was the problem. He blinked at the sight of Robintail's wound; he must have been bitten by something pretty strong to have broken a bone. "Sagepelt went out to collect herbs," he said in a soothing voice, in hopes to make Robintail more at ease. He hurried back into the den, coming back with three poppy seeds--he thought that should be enough--along with mouse fluff and some water-soaked moss. "Here, eat the seeds. This might hurt a bit." As carefully as he could, the black tom pushed the broken bone into the right position. Then he cleaned the wound with the moss and placed the mouse fluff on the wound, carefully needing it down with his paws. "You won't be able to be on regular warrior duties for a while," he said as he did this. "About a moon or so. And it'll be hard to walk. But I wouldn't be too concerned. I'll ask Sagepelt if there's anything else we should do when he gets back."
4.) Ravenblink tried to ignore the putrid scent of Carrionplace. He wrinkled up his face as he neared the hut. At least what he was after--the basil in the window box--smelled much better than his surroundings. Making sure no Twolegs were around, he leapt onto the window box and proceeded to gingerly bite off the stems of one of the plants. That way, he could get both the flowers and the leaves. He only took one stem, though; he didn't want Sagepelt to get angry at him for removing the entire supply of basil that ShadowClan had. When he was done removing the stem, the tom hopped off the window box and nearly sprinted away from the foul Carrionplace, looking around to see if any of his Clanmates were out hunting. Could a medicine cat join a hunting patrol? He had never bothered to find out the answer; he always went by himself or with Sagepelt.
5.) I feel like I could contribute even more to CoSC if I were part of the staff. I have been on staff positions, including admin, on several other RP and Wiki sites. I have become well aquainted with the rules here at CoSC and would be very welcoming of new players, while still able to correct them if they violate the rules. I visit CoSC almost everyday and I feel like I have the ability to contribute more to the community.
After careful consideration the staff has decided not to accept this application. We thank you for your efforts.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 10:49, 8 February 2010 (CST)

1.) I see Ravenblink continuing to learn every day under Sagepelt. His strong patience and intellect traits enable him to do so, and I think he has a passion for learning all that he can learn. He already knows the basic requirements to become a medicine cat, hence the medicine-cat's name, but his knowledge of herbs and remedies will continue blossom over his time with Sagepelt. He will be in a state of constant learning during his time as "student." (Though technically he is not considered a student, he would still be in that mind-frame)

When Sagepelt joins StarClan, I see Ravenblink reaching the point of his time as medicine cat where he will truly reach the peak in his carrer. I think he will be able to handle the transition into sole medicine cat of ShadowClan very well, with his patience which is essential for handling the increased level of patients. As he nears the middle of his carrer, he will take on an apprentice of his own and teach him/her everything that he knows, weather or not the apprentice is willing. This time period marks the transition from "student" to "teacher", and I think that he will end up becoming an excellent teacher, providing a base for the continuing line of ShadowClan medicine cats. As he ages, Ravenblink's personality will stay the same, despite the change in status from a student to the teacher. Though his vision of himself will change, it isn't strong enough to change his personality.
2.) Sagepelt had posed to Ravenblink a question that he could definately answer. "Well, I'd pick feverfew." Ravenblink mewed. "Feverfew's leaves are used to help treat a fever and colds in general, as well as stomach pains. Grapes are used for problems with the proper flow of food, and ash is used for treating a cat who has been poisoned. But I'd also use ash seeds if the kit is having difficulties or is in pain when breathing." He concluded.
3.) Ravenblink was awoken from Robintail calling out for Sagepelt. "Sagepelt's out, but I'll be there right away." He said. He had taken a look at Robintail's leg, and it was hanging at a strange angle. Silver Jaws. Ravenblink thought. Sagepelt had told him about these, they were awful human things that would trap a cat. Luckily Robintail had been able to get out of it. He grabbed a few poppy seeds. These should help him with the pain.v"Here, eat these." Ravenblink mewed, and put the poppy seeds near Robintail's head so that he could lick them up.

Ravenblink had chosen the proper herbs that he would need for the broken bone. Alder, marigold, mouse fluff, poppy, thyme, and willow. He thought. He then gathered herbs for the paw-wound that the silver jaws had caused. Burdock and Chamomile. He concluded. He chewed up the chamomile flowers and applied them to the paw-wound, then applied the burdock leaf to it. It would stay, so he prepared to re-align the bone, and he made the potluce of the remaining herbs for after the bone was aligned. He felt around, and felt where it was not-aligned. "Now I'm going to align the bone." He said to Robintail. He pressed on the dis-aligned bone and felt it move into proper place.

The black tom then applied the potluce of the remaining herbs to the wound, and put the mouse-fluff on it followed by the burdock leaf. Now the process of healing would begin. "I am afraid that you'll have to stay in here for a moon. After that you can be released for light, and I mean light duties. He emphasized the light, because he didn't want Robintail to break it agian. "I am warning you now, don't move at all. Or else it will break again." But by this time Robintail was asleep, or at least appeared to be. He then went to inform Elmstar that Robintail was out of service for the time being.
4.) Ravenblink was in his den. It was morning and he had just woken up from the night's sleep. There were no patients in the medicine den overnight, which was a good thing. Nobody in the Clan was majorily sick or injured. Ravenblink streached and made his way out of the den that belonged to Sagepelt and himself. The sun was just beginning to creep its rays through the ShadowClan camp, illuminating certain points like the fresh-kill pile and the area outside of Elmstar's den. He thought that it was beautiful. This was going to be a perfect day.

He grabbed a mouse and took it over to the light. The black tom streached out in the pocket of sun and soaked in the warm sun. Life was good.
5.) I feel like I am qualified to become part of the staff because I have been a dedicated member of CoSC since before the move from the old site to the new site. I have not failed to post in an activity check and I am active in many roleplays. I also have figured out my way around the new site and I feel like I know enough about the site itself to be qualified for an admin position. I can contribute to overall plots and activity for the site. I have always wanted to be a part of the staff, and I can contribute enthusiasm and fresh ideas if I am picked to be a part of the staff.

***My mac is not agreeing with the form right now.***

Declined Application from Nessarose

Application Status: Declined
1.) I see Ravenblink as staying outwardly confident, efficient, and almost bored at life as I roleplay him. I’d also like to keep going on his bold, self-important nature, and as he becomes more experienced as a medicine cat, his self-importance will only grow. He’ll tend to automatically grant himself an important say in every matter that’s talked about, something that he believes is only his right as a medicine cat apprentice and the future sole caretaker of ShadowClan.
He will stand firm in his beliefs—namely, the powers of StarClan and the overall supremacy of living in ShadowClan. In his mind, instead of him being lucky to be in such a great Clan, they are be lucky to have him as such a capable medicine cat. He views the other Clans with almost a sense of pity. Ravenblink will view StarClan as a good guide stand firmly in his belief that they are all-powerful.
Ravenblink’s self-confidence issues would gradually fade over time, mostly due to his effort to prove himself to himself and push away his doubts. He will grow to be almost as confident inside as he is outside, and strive all the time to prove this.
I feel I am suited to play this character because I find him very interesting and would strive to develop his character to the best it can be. I would very much enjoy having the chance to play a medicine cat, and experiencing the differences between their lives and that of a warrior’s. As I would develop Ravenblink and let his personality grow, the experience would also allow me to grow as a roleplayer and a member of CoSC.
2.) Ravenblink closed his eyes briefly. One might think that he was concentrating on the answer; in truth he was rolling his eyes so that Sagepelt could not see. “Great StarClan, kitcough?” he muttered under his breath. The answer came readily; he’d learned this in his first moon of training! Ravenblink almost didn’t have to think as the answer popped readily into his mind. He swept away the small undercurrent of annoyance at the ridiculously easy question. The black tom gave a tiny sigh and looked up at Sagepelt, his answer confident. He allowed a slight undertone of something else to sneak in—a bit of sarcasm, not because he was trying to be mean, but a playful jab at Sagepelt, saying “Kitcough? I’m practically a full-grown medicine cat!”
“I would give a young kitten with kitcough feverfew. Since the kit would most likely be coughing and congested, it’d be best to give them feverfew, which is a good cure for both symptoms. The other two herbs—“ He flicked his tail almost boredly at the ash seeds and dried grapes—“would do nothing.” He sat up straight, holding Sagepelt’s gaze steadily. Tipping his head, he awaited her answer. If she wanted him to go on and list all the remedies of kitcough—if she wanted him to list every herb and its use then by StarClan, he’d do it!
3.) Ravenblink’s ears pricked at the sound of a cat’s approach. He narrowed his eyes and drew in a breath of air—oh, it was Robintail. And--! Blood! Ravenblink almost recoiled at the strong wave of blood-scent that washed over him, but moons of being a medicine cat apprentice steadied him. He leaped to his paws and snatched a large wad of cobwebs in his jaws, running toward Robintail.
“Sagepelt’s out right now,” Ravenblink meowed. Not that it made any difference—he could work just as efficiently now with or without his mentor. Not an ounce of panic was in the young tom’s mind; he leaned toward the wound and quickly assessed it. “The Silver Jaws,” he meowed, quickly wrapping Robintail’s injured leg in cobwebs. Stop the blood flow. And he should bind the warrior’s broken leg, but at the moment it was more important to make sure that Robintail didn’t bleed to death. As soon as he had bound the leg sufficiently, Ravenblink craned his neck upward. The only downside of Sagepelt being out of camp was that he didn’t have someone to fetch herbs for him, and it wouldn’t be wise to leave Robintail alone when the warrior was so badly injured.
4.) He was stretched out languidly in front of the medicine den, his eyes half-slitted so that only a sliver of their glossy blue brightness shone through. His paws were crossed so that his white chest was completely hidden, and his tail flicked lazily from side to side. One might think that he was dozing in what weak sun they had, but in truth Ravenblink’s mind was as sharp and attentive at the moment as a wakeful cat moving about the camp.
His gaze wandered through the camp, watching carefully for any cat in need of a medicine cat, whether for help or just simply to socialize. He opened his mouth slightly and drew in the familiar scents of the camp around him—the fresh-kill pile, the cats around him, and each distinct scent of the herbs neatly categorized and indexed in the den behind him.
5.) I feel that I am qualified to join the CoSC staff because I try to be very active and would continue to be so as I roleplayed in this position. I try to be on at least several times a week or more, and I would strive to not hold anyone back in roleplaying with my character. I would enjoy the opportunity to play the position of medicine cat, as it’s always intrigued me. I also believe that playing a medicine cat apprentice—especially one in a Clan I’ve had little experience roleplaying in before—will bring me new experience and improve my skills as a roleplayer and member of CoSC. I consider myself to be and try to be creative, and I also strive to be responsible, which would make me a good candidate for a staff position. Therefore, I’d possibly bring new opinions and ideas to the staff group.

Accepted Application from Web

Application Status: Accepted
1.) I envision Ravenblink as not straying too far from his current personality. On the outside he'll remain overconfident and practical, and will keep his rather self-important attitude; on the inside he'll struggle with his self-esteem and yearn desperately to learn everything there is to know about everything. As he grows, he'll gradually overcome his self-esteem issues, though he may not ever completely conquer them, and his faith in StarClan will become more deeply rooted than ever. His cold attitude toward the other Clans will, if anything, grow more icy and strong, though of course he'll respect the other medicine cats.

I feel I'm qualified because, well, I think I've got a good idea of his character and where I'd want to go with him and I know I can be active with him. Playing a MCA would be a new, fun experience for me, and I'm sure I could get the hang of medicine cattery quickly. Not sure if there's any trouble with me already having a cat whose name starts with "Raven", but if there is a problem, I'm sure I can work something out.
2.) Ravenblink waited attentively, tail wrapped around his paws. A quiz! Now was the chance to show his mentor how much he knew. His eyes darkened, however, as Sagepelt posed her question. Did she think he was fresh out of the nursery? He had his full medicine cat's name, for StarClan's sake! If she asked easy stuff like this all the time, he was at risk of forgetting the complex aspects of medicine cattery.

Trying to shrug off his annoyance and frustration at the simplicity of her challenge, he replied coolly, "Feverfew. It's used against colds, coughs, and fevers. Ash seeds and grapes are used for different ailments."
3.) Ravenblink poked his head out of the den at Robintail's call; his eyes narrowed when he saw the warrior. Not missing a heartbeat, the black tom hurried toward the stash of herbs and took a bunch of cobwebs and a bit of mouse fluff. He'd need more herbs, but he couldn't take time getting them now -- another cat could do that for him.

He padded over to Robintail quickly, and analyzed the wound. First: stop the poor cat from bleeding too much, and make sure that he was calm. "It's all right, you're going to be fine, just don't move," Ravenblink meowed softly, to soothe the injured tom. Then, swiftly but carefully, he began wrapping the warrior's leg in cobwebs to stop the blood flow. When he'd done so sufficiently, he added some mouse fluff to the bound leg, to help staunch the flow even more.

Now...he needed to ease Robintail's pain, align the bone, and apply the proper herbs to the wound. His gaze darted around camp, searching for a cat he could send to the medicine den. He was not going to leave Robintail's side, not in the state the other tom was in.
4.) Ravenblink arched his back after rising from his nest, yawning lazily. Sunlight streamed into the den; the medicine cat apprentice padded out, eyes scanning the camp, taking in all sorts of information. The weather seemed pleasant today, at least, and no cats were mortally wounded or deathly ill, which was always good.

The young tom wasn't terribly fascinated by anything he saw, so he chose to move over to the fresh-kill pile. It seemed to him that there was often an accumulation of cats around there, and socializing was not a bad thing to do when bored. Hoping that excitement would come along and find him, he settled down by the fresh-kill, eying it carefully, taking note of each piece of prey he spotted. Not incredibly important or interesting information to gather, perhaps, but it was something to do.
5.) Well, in the first place, I consider myself to be pretty active. Aside from school, my life isn't very hectic right now, so I have plenty of time for CoSC, which I figure I could use to help the site grow and improve and all that jazz as well as posting IC. I admit that I'm not brilliant with plot ideas or stuff like that, but I'd help in any way I could if called upon. I'm eager to help out CoSC's staff team however possible, and would participate in most staff discussions if not all in order to make a bigger contribution to CoSC. I don't go on vacations too often, but when I do, I'll always make sure to file LOAs and can usually check up on the site, if only for a brief amount of time. I'd also be willing to help out with anything else if I can.
This application has been accepted. Congratulations, Web!  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 10:49, 8 February 2010 (CST)
