1.) I would like to adopt Dawnfire because I believe she has done a fine job as WindClan deputy, and I would hate to see her go. I believe I am suited to play her because I like her sharp personality and strictness towards other cats, even her own Clanmates. While I have not played characters like this before on CoSC, I have on other sites and I feel like I would be good at it. In the future, if I were to play her, Dawnfire will gain slightly more respect for her Clan members and cats of other Clans, but never quite lose her extreme preference of WindClan and distaste for kits and elders. Dawnfire's heavy loyalty towards Blackstar will teach her how to lead her Clan one day with the same principles that he lived on: courage and respect. If ever made leader--or even still as a deputy--Dawnfire would keep the distrust towards other Clans that Blackstar believed in, even becoming more hostile than her half-brother.
2.) "Robinbright!" Dawnfire hissed, her tail waving in the air as she trotted towards the angry mentor. "No matter what Goldpaw did, no apprentice is going to learn if all you do is yell on about having no respect for their Clan. How about you tell Goldpaw exactly what she did wrong and why it's bad for the Clan?" She had no problem chastising Robinbright in front of his own apprentice; his wounded pride could serve as punishment.

Then she turned to Goldpaw, her tone remaining the same as she scolded the apprentice. "It's in the warrior code itself, Goldpaw...kits and elders must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Maybe you're not particularly happy about it, but that's the way it is. Now, since you are still in the early stages of your apprenticeship, I won't punish you heavily. But the next time you go hunting, you must bring all of your prey straight to the elders' den and make sure they eat all of it before you even take a step towards the fresh-kill pile."
3.) Dawnfire unsheathed her claws and yowled, loud enough for the intruding cat to hear, "What are you doing here? Do you not realize that this is WindClan territory?" She lowered herself slightly and swished her tail back and forth, ready to pounce on the rogue if he made a single threatening move towards her. She observed, however, that he didn't seem particularly hostile; how irritating it was, for cats to ignore the scent markers clearly laid out on the borders.
4.) Dawnfire hated midday. The patrols had been assigned, sentries had been posted, everything that needed to be done was either completed or in the process of being completed. All there really was to go on a few hunting trips, join in a few border patrols, or, as she was doing now, eating by the fresh-kill pile. She looked around for a stray kit wandering around camp or a sleeping apprentice and found none. Growling softly in frustration at having nothing to do until the midday patrol (which was unlikely to be soon, as they had just left) or one of the hunting patrols returned, she bit into a vole and observed the quiet camp through sharp eyes.
5.) I feel I would contribute to the CoSC staff because I am an active player who has consistenly RPed with my existing characters. Having been at CoSC for more than a year, I've learned the ropes and have contributed to the Project Info Drive as well as other discussions concerning the improvement of the quality of the game. I have many ideas for the site, IC and OOC, and I feel like being part of the staff would allow me to act on those ideas. Finally, if ever I did have to be absent from CoSC for some time, I would be sure to file a LOA.

1.) Proud, practical, and ambitious, Dawnfire appeals to me because she's not very similar to my other characters. Her personality is very distinct, and I've seen her in roleplay so much that I think I've got a good feel for her personality and how to incorporate it into RP. She's a very clearly defined cat, so I'm pretty sure I could manage to keep Dawnfire in character. As for Dawnfire's future...I envision her retaining her current personality on the whole, while often considering her future. Though she won't spend her time lost in thought or anything, she'll sometimes find herself thinking about trustworthy cats in WindClan who are good choices for deputy and senior warriors, and her plans for WindClan's future. I think Dawnfire feels that strong leadership and loyalty to the Clan are very important to Blackstar, as well as maintaining some distance from the other Clans, particularly ThunderClan, and she would do her best to serve her Clan with those ideals in mind.
2.) It was not without irritation that Dawnfire padded up to the mentor and apprentice. Goldpaw hadn't acted in the Clan's best interest, true, but Robinbright was as much at fault as Goldpaw if the young cat didn't know the warrior code.

"Keep your fur on, Robinbright," Dawnfire ordered as she reached the pair, her tone sharp. "You're going to scare her to death. She's not going to start obeying the code any faster just because you yell unnecessarily at her." She let her amber glare linger on him for a moment, warning him not to do something like this again. He was trustworthy enough to be a mentor; he should know better than to blow up in a young apprentice's face like that.

Abruptly, she turned to face the apprentice, waving her tail at Robinbright to dismiss him. "Goldpaw, you should know by now that the Clan comes first," she meowed, her tone still strict but calm and even. "Robinbright may have been too hard on you, but he had a point. I know you're still young, but that doesn't mean you can just ignore the warrior code whenever you feel like it. I won't punish you too heavily this time, but if this ever happens again -- and I sincerely hope it doesn't -- I might not be so lenient. Do we understand each other?" She tried to look the apprentice in the eye with a firm stare, wanting to make sure that Goldpaw understood what she had done wrong before explaining the consequences.
3.) Dawnfire narrowed her eyes upon sighting the intruder and dug her claws into the ground. He didn't seem to have any hostile intent, but simply being an intruder was a crime in and of itself. "Intruder!" she spat at him, hackles rising. "Doesn't your nose work properly? This is WindClan territory. Now get out, or I'll chase you to the border myself!" The other cat looked as if he'd been through his share of scuffles, but she was confident she could take him on anyway if he attacked her, which was a possibility. If he had any sense, though, he would leave right now, before she got a chance to show him what WindClan cats were made of.
4.) The ginger tabby trotted into camp, a freshly-caught rabbit hanging limply from her jaws. It was shaping up to be a good day, or at least not a totally bad one; the sun had only just edged over the horizon and already she'd caught something. Dawnfire made her way to the fresh-kill pile and laid the rabbit on it with satisfaction, then sat down, wrapping her tail around her and lifting a paw to her mouth to clean off the rabbit fur and blood. As she washed, she mentally ran through a list of the patrols that needed to be assigned today. She'd wait a bit before making the announcement, to let a few more cats wake up on their own, but she wasn't going to hang around until every single late sleeper got to their feet; she was getting a bit impatient already.
5.) I confess that in the past few months I haven't been a shining beacon of activity or anything, but now that I am less busy, I am stepping it up again and trying to get more involved in the game. I try to contribute to CoSC through PID and such, and while I may not be the most vocal member of the staff, I do consider all issues brought up in staff discussions, as well as general game discussions. Also, I think WindClan could probably use an activity boost, and that, by adopting Dawnfire, I could help encourage one.
