How do I create a character?

Head over to the Character Creation Area and follow the appropriate instructions.

How do I get a genotype for my character?

To get a genotype for a character you simply follow the instructions provided by the Genetics Department.

How do I get an Incorrect Sdesc Fixed?

See PSA #14 for details.

How do I delete a pending character I don't want to finish?

Click the standard editing page and remove all content before saving it. Kitsu will then take that as her cue to remove the sheet.

Please keep in mind that this is not an acceptable way to get rid of an approved character. If you want to be shot of an approved character you'll need to find a good way to kill them off IC. If you want advice on doing so, contact Kitsufox about it.

How do I upload an image?

You simply go to this page and follow the instructions there. You can find this link on every page on the site hidden under the menu located near the search bar (formerly, this was located at the bottom of every page but this changed when the current layout was adopted).

How do I link to a thread without upsetting the external URL filters?

CoSC has filters that block posts with more than 1-2 external URLs. This is because we've had some issues with spammer accounts in the past. It's an acceptable choice becuase even when you need to link threads you can get around it by using wikilinks instead of external links by trimming the URL.

You start with the full URL from the URL bar in your browser. (I left off the http:// so it wouldn't auto link and you could see colors for instructions).

I I have marked in red the parts you'll want to remove. You then take the non-red section and put it into wikilinks, putting the name of the thread (or whatever other words you want to link) after the pipe.

How do I become a Staff Member?

The CoSC Staff positions are assigned based on the IC positions held by characters with ranks in most cases. IC ranked positions must be applied for via the Applications Department, and the OOC component of holding a rank is part of why we have such an in depth application process for IC ranks.

You can consult PSA #8 for the details of what IC positions correspond to which OOC ranks. Ranked characters do require additional activity so it is recommended that you also read the Roleplay Activity Rules Expanded for complete details. The final bit of recommended reading is the OOC Activity Requirements for Staff Members.

How do I add an Avatar to my Forum Profile?

Go to the forum, hold your mouse pointer over "Member Options", select "Edit Avatar" and Click it. Proceed to upload your avatar.

How do I add a Signature to my Forum Profile?

Go to the forum, hold your mouse pointer over "Member Options", select "Edit Signature" and Click it. Proceed to enter the text you desire and save it.

Please note that the system will automatically shrink text as if using <SMALL></SMALL> tags when it prints to the forum.

How do I get a nifty list of characters for my signature that updates itself?

Add the following code to your signature using one of the sets of instructions below. Both are equally valid, and both work. The second just allows for more configuration by experienced editors.
