Weight: 1.0 – 1.4 Ounces (27 – 40 Grams)
Wingspan: 13.4 Inches (34 Centimeters)
Behavior: In the summer, Great Crested Flycatchers migrate north to breed in the Clans. They are found in the open decidous woodlands of ThunderClan, in the River Copse of RiverClan, along the Treelines of WindClan, and in the wooded swamps of ShadowClan. They spend little time on the ground, but hunt flying insects mainly in the top of the canopy of trees. The most opportune time to hunt these birds is on the rare instance that they drop down from their perch to take on prey on the ground. Great Crested Flycatchers nest in tree cavities, and may have 4 to 8 eggs in a clutch.
Social Organization: These songbirds are monogamous, and after flying in flocks to the Clan lands, they will separate into pairs to breed, build nests, and care for their young.
Approval Level*: None; Great Crested Flycatchers are commonly found in all four of the clans during the summer.
Kill Difficulty: Low; Although their beaks and claws are relatively sharp, these medium-sized songbirds stand no fighting chance against a cat.
Hunting Difficulty: Advanced; In addition to having a loud alarm call, Great Crested Flycatchers rarely descend to the ground, as they much prefer to fly among the treetops.
Food Quality: Medium; The little flesh they offer is full of nourishment and flavor.
*Some creatures require approval to appear in RP. This is to make sure the Admins and Mods who need to know are fully aware of a species currently active in their area.
These ratings are mainly for those creatures that are uncommon or pose a threat of some sort to the cats.
