Character Factoids

Original Characters

  • Newheart: Fernwhisker's first ever character, created somewhere around five years ago. When she first got into Warriors roleplaying, she envisioned a character that would be an in-game version of herself-- she threw together her favorite color, a random cat picture found while surfing (this one, specifically), and the name given to her by the name generator on the Warriors website, and Newheart was born. Her first incarnation, anyway. Back then, although physically the same, she was an entirely different character. She was notably more agressive and serious, and she bore the name Fernwhisker. Her history was chosen almost at random, because n00b-Fernwhisker wanted her cat to have an angsty history. But then things changed. Over time, Fernwhisker-character's personality began to shift into gentler ranges; she grew more cheerful, more tolerant. As Fernwhisker the player came to understand herself better, so did Fernwhisker the character change in response. Fernwhisker-player hopped from site to site, carrying her Fernwhisker-character with her, until they landed at Children of StarClan. There, Fernwhisker-character found her true home, a place that helped shape her into a more cohesive character. She eventually gained the name Newheart, and her personality solidified into her present bouncy, tough, happy-go-lucky kitty that she is today. Her history was one thing that didn't change; it only grew more detailed and defined. Fernwhisker began to delve into why Newheart's father snapped. Presently, she at last feels that she understands her first character completely. Newheart is now mostly a symbol of Fernwhisker the player's potential; an idealized version of Fernwhisker with all of her strengths and none of her faults. Although she loves the character very much, sentimental value and all, Fernwhisker knows Newheart is a bit of a mary-sue.
  • Horus: Horus is reincarnated from a previous site. She had been Echopaw of CliffClan, and when the site died, Fernwhisker discarded the character. But when the Cats of Camelot began to form, Fernwhisker dug Echopaw out again--and found that the character was much more interesting than she had originally realized. She renamed her Horus and shifted her history, but her personality and appearance did not change so much as a single hair.

IC Litter Kits

  • Robinpaw: Robinpaw is swiftly becoming one of Fernwhisker's favorite characters to play. Her intensely curious nature, her slight shirking of authority, and most of all her hyperactive personality makes each post a sort of adventure for her player. Fernwhisker often calls Robinpaw 'an exclamation mark personified' (a descriptor that has lead to many a joke in the CoSC AIM chats), and has been known to describe her as having an 'excess of personality'. This would explain why Robinpaw is the only one of Fernwhisker's characters who has two active tables instead of only one--she considers one table to be incapable of containing all that personality.
  • It has been decided that Robinpaw is very much a Genki Girl.

Adopted Characters

  • Fiercestorm: Fernwhisker considers Fiercestorm to be one of her most well-crafed, three-dimensional characters. His more exemplary traits are balanced out by his many venerabilities; despite being a genuinely sweet and caring cat, his bossiness and slightly pompous nature make him genuinely disliked by some. Fernwhisker considers this a positive sign; such duality is essential in a realistic character. But Fernwhisker didn't always value her favorite ThunderClan heir so highly. When she first adopted him, he was merely moons old, his personality totally unformed. As the months passed and Stormkit grew into a Stormpaw and beyond, Fernwhisker struggled to find his voice. For a very long time, the character seemed to refuse to grow a personality for her; she found herself dragging him into threads on a total lack of muse and interest. She toughed it out only because she would have felt too bad giving him up. But then, finally--a light appeared at the end of the tunnel. From nowhere, Stormpaw began to speak. It was very subtle at first, but Fernwhisker was feeling glimmerings of personality beginning to form at long last. The last few moons before his warrior ceremony were like a fast run down a steep incline: his personality came together at breakneck pace, slipping more and more easily into posts, relieving Fernwhisker's muse problem for good. By the time he gained his warrior name, Fiercestorm was almost fully formed. Now, his personality feels pleasantly detailed and dynamic to Fernwhisker, leading him to the top of her 'favorite characters list'. As a side note: Fernwhisker is fangirlishly obsessed with the pairing of Fiercestorm and Flurrytail. When Nagini first suggested the pairing, Fernwhisker agreed to it because she thought it was a cute on, and was sure that it would 'work'. Now she realizes that Flurrytail is exactly right for Fiercestorm in every way. It's enough to make the deeply-buried sappy romantic in her squeal. That, and the fact that she expects the best for her favorite character.
  • Sagepelt: Sagepelt was up for adoption for awhile before Fernwhisker decided to do something about it. Figuring that apparently no one really wanted her, and feeling something like pity for the poor adandoned medicine cat, Fernwhisker went to apply. The first thing she noticed is that Sagepelt's personality was vaguely similar to a previous character of hers (who also happened to be a medicine cat). This inspired Fernwhisker; she found that writing for Sagepelt was relatively easily, at least in certain contexts. The application's approval catapulted her into a staff position (on her birthday, no less).
