Appearance

Short Description :
Short Description will be provided after approval
Long Description :
By domestic standards, Dyrim is a small, longhaired she-cat with a thickset yet rather frail build underneath her fur. She was the runt of the very large litter she was born into, and it shows in that she is smaller and physically weaker than her siblings even in adulthood. Her pelt is a rich ginger color on her back and top of the head, lightening toward the underbelly, tail and paws, while her face shows faint tabby markings. Her Persian heritage shows in the round shape of her head, heavily marked brow and short muzzle tipped by a small pinkish red nose, surrounded by whiskers of two different colors, black and white. Dyrim's small, pointy ears are often almost invisible under the thick fur of her head. Her round eyes are a dark shade of copper, nearing a coffee-colored brown, and their coloring makes the black pupils stand off strongly against her fur.
Personality

Smaller than average, her build makes Dyrim a very sub-par fighter. However, she tries to compensate for size and physical attributes with a scornfully critical tongue and a ruthless spirit. She tends to take most things in life as a game and throws herself into things as the opportunity comes along, disregarding any rules which don't suit her purposes. Amoral, ambitious and fiercely stubborn, Dyrim is not one to let go of her goals once she sets her mind on them, and while she may not be too intelligent, she has an opportunistic mind born of a lifelong need of looking out for her own well-being over others'.

Dyrim is not a brave cat. However, in the company of someone willing to fight her battles for her, she is more than willing to stir up trouble and leave it to others to sort it out--namely, her brother Astarael.

There are two sides to Dyrim's behavior. In the presence of Astarael, she is louder and more obnoxious to the point of recklessness, since she can trust his protection if things turn ugly. In his absence, she prefers to keep herself beyond lunging distance and tries to curb her tongue--if with varied results, including a few hurried runs up to the slimmest branches of a tree that can't support a heavier cat.

She is especially wary of her own brothers and sisters, Astarael aside, since they know her all too well. Saraneth is eyed with distrust, her hunger for leadership all too similar to Dyrim's own, too cunning to trust and too sly to handle safely, coupled with the physical strength she herself does not possess.

Too distrustful of others and marked by her old experiences with cats and humans, she prefers to keep a distance between herself and others unless she spots a possibility of personal profit. Dyrim is extremely selfish; if a situation does not benefit either her or Astarael (and he only because she needs him), she will not risk her precious skin in pursuing it.
History

Key Dates
Full History :
Dyrim was born into a large litter of seven kittens to a household heavily overcrowded with cats. While the kittens' dame was a purebred tortie Persian, they had multiple sires, resulting in a litter with varied looks but the characteristic build and muzzle of their mother's breed; among the few physical traits Dyrim inherited from her blood sire is the ginger color of his fur. In a cramped home that could not support so many cats wishing to have their own territory, the kittens were forced to learn their place in the world early on. Once a hierarchy started establishing itself among the litter and with the rest of the house's cats, it became clear that Dyrim would rank low in the chain unless she did something about it. She had two options: stay put and endure abuse for the rest of her life, or fight back. Her scathing tongue would not be enough to defend herself, and thus she attached herself to the meanest, biggest brute in the litter, her brother Astarael, to whom brains were optional due to both size and brawn. In their relationship, she became the savvy one of the pair, handling the situations sheer muscle could not deal with and letting him take care of those it could. In his absence, she resorted to high areas, keeping to the tops of cupboards and high shelves to maintain a healthy, safe distance from other, more dominant cats.

Player's Notes

General :
Gigantic WIP. Braindump. Welcome to a day in Willow's mind.

Powerplay-curbing throughout the sheet is needed, methinks. Will have to rewrite this, but for now this is the basic idea as my brain storms it, messy and scattered for us to have a notion what we're dealing with.

For genetic reference and family building and description, the current description of Dyrim, Astarael and Saraneth requires the litter's mother to be a tortie Persian and Dyrim's father a red tom. The dame needs to at least carry dilute and point. Neither parent can have high-grade whitespotting. (Astarael's sire needs to carry dilute and point, at least one of Saraneth's parents has whitespotting.)

The other four siblings are either maternal or full-blooded; probably easier to figure that out if/once they get players. (If anyone is interested in playing a sibling, please contact me or Kit.)

Matters to discuss: time and matter of escape from owner (Kit suggested "tree fell on house during windstorm"), how long/where have they been roaming, how successful have they been at surviving.

Named after the fourth of the seven necromantic bells of the Old Kindom book series by Garth Nix.
