Guides
Welcome to Children of StarClan. We hope that you enjoy your stay here. If you run into any problems not covered by the suggested reading listed above please feel free to Send a PM to Administrator Kitsufox to sort out the issue. We would like it to be known that CoSC is a game unlike any other, and that in accordance you will want to take the time to get to know our take on the warriors world which favors an interpretation with the more visceral feel of the original series. Over the course of 4 years we have developed our very specific approach to the fandom that lies a bit outside both the accepted canon of the book world and the common fanon found on most RP sites. RE: Forum Issue
I am working on the issues showing up on the forum. My actively being working on the forum and social profiles /might/ have caused your issue. Refresh, clear your cache and try and let me know if it works for you, please. Kitsufox Fox's Den 16:45, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
The login troubles have to do with the change of website. Technically, even though it looks identical, this is a whole new website. Having cleared your cache the problem should improve very quickly. Kitsufox Fox's Den 17:12, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
I made some changes to the site. Take a look to see if you're getting forum topics to load now. Hopefully we've got at least that working. Kitsufox Fox's Den 18:14, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
The login will sort out, I promise. It actually was squirrely for me for a bit, too. When it's acting up on a page, mouseover the "actions" button and click "refresh". For your ability to see things.... Let me check into a few things and see if I can't duplicate your problem... Kitsufox Fox's Den 18:27, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
Okay... Using my dummy account, I was able to figure out what's going on. I can't exactly fix it, but I worked out what caused it (not having a user group), and basically any user who has their email account confirmed is automatically added to a user group. So you /should/ be good to go now. Not only could I replicate your issue, but I found a cure (I did switch to a different version of the WikiForum software to make it happen). We should be go now. Just update me as soon as you have a chance to check. Kitsufox Fox's Den 18:58, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
Because of how much is on my plate I realize I missed something obvious. You /havn't/ confirmed your email yet (you should do that. Theoretically, you shouldn't be able to edit pages until you do that! I guess the coding let you get away with it somehow. Not sure wheat's up there.) Try now. I'm starting to wonder if it's actually tied to pages you can respond to, and a result of the only email confirmed people can edit... This might prove it out and give us a solid answer. I'm going to chalk it up to "Weirdness resultant of the site move". I site move that mostly only me, and people caught in bugs, really notice ;) With that resolved, do you have Google Plus/Google Hangouts? They're the most active "Just hanging out" places for CoSC people. Kitsufox Fox's Den 20:14, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
Google+ and Hangouts are just aspects of having a google account. In fact, if you have a gmail account, log into it and you can just active either one or both as a part of your existing google account. Hangouts is a chat system. Google+ is a social network. Blackhush
- Blackhush has been declined at this time. You may review the notes on the discussion page of the character sheet. Kitsufox Fox's Den 21:27, 16 May 2017 (UTC)
RE: Blackhush questions/discussion
There is a sort of PM system built into the Social Profile. The "Boards" have a function that does keep it just between the two players. Losing the old AWC Forum to depreciation was a serious blow. No more private forums, no more private messages. There's just no other extensions that duplicate the features. As soon as one comes out I'll be all over installing them, though.
As for the kithood infirmity... The only thing that might possibly work that I can think of is a mild heart murmur. At least in dogs sometimes a puppy is born with a murmur that fades with age (I've actually owned one). I don't know if it happens in cats, but that at least gives you a possible research angle, and gives us something that we can investigate and add to the game info. I know at least with murmurs they can come back as the dog ages.
For the snakebite... You could always downgrade from the rattlesnake to an actual Adder (CoSC has an invasive population of them that live near snake rocks and the clan territories). Their bites are non-fatal and extremely painful. For the rattlesnake possibility, I was thinking a very subtle tremor. Potentially isolated to the area around the injury. But swapping to adder would dodge it entirely and keep the spirit of the story you wanted.
And you are not being a bother! You're exploring possibilities and figuring out how to keep the spirit of the story you want in a way that fits into the CoSC! This is just part of the process of making your character work. Being a bother would be stubbornly resubmitting your story without changes or discussion and expecting my opinions to change ;) Kitsufox Fox's Den 13:58, 17 May 2017 (UTC)
- Both of those sound great! and I look forward to seeing your next updates to the character sheet. Kitsufox Fox's Den 19:48, 17 May 2017 (UTC)
Chat Issues
Okay, Sorted it out. It was a bug with the VERSION of the chat I had installed. I swapped and now things are working correctly. Players who are not administrators can actually get in. Kitsufox Fox's Den 18:43, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
