Shorthand

Let’s face it, we’re all human, and humans are lazy. While in character it’s pretty obvious that using shortened versions of things in anything other than speech is a no-no, out of character we are all far more lenient. So! Tired of having to write out “ThunderClan” a billion times? Well, here are some ways to shorten them down for convenience, and – if you’re a little confused by all the acronyms running around – translate what others have typed! Of course, many of these will be used in other forums around the net, so you might spot a few you’re familiar with.

Clan Specific

• RC - RiverClan
• SC - ShadowClan
• TC - ThunderClan
• WC – WindClan

• RMC – RiverClan Medicine Cat
• SMC - ShadowClan Medicine Cat
• TMC - ThunderClan Medicine Cat
• WMC – WindClan Medicine Cat

• RCD– RiverClan Deputy
• SCD- ShadowClan Deputy
• TCD- ThunderClan Deputy
• WCD– WindClan Deputy

• RCL - RiverClan Leader
• SCL - ShadowClan Leader
• TCL - ThunderClan Leader
• WCL – WindClan Leader

Generic Roleplay

• OOC – Out of Character
• IC – In Character
• BIC – Back in Character
• P – Private (invite only thread)
• AW – All welcome. Anyone may join this thread
• DND – A thread that is on a hiatus, but will be continued (put this if you don’t want the thread locked and archived)
• M/R/PG-13/etc – This means that the thread is either Mature, rated R (best left for those over 16/17), or is for those over thirteen. This is used on threads that will or do contain violent or disturbing imagery.
• PC - Player Character
• NPC - Non-player Character
