This she-cat has gray fur with randomly placed dark gray/black stripes. Green eyes shine out from her fur, slitted with narrow black pupils. Her gray paws are rather small for any cat, having not grown since she was apprenticed. Her gray tail has a black tip and her claws are white, with one black one in each paw, the furthest to the left.

Ashfur is normally calm, except when one messes with any of the kits in the nursery. When she finds a kit or apprentice misbehaving she usually punishes them harshly seeing as though she believes that one should keep their cool unless endlessly irked. When around her childhood friends she can be rather the goof but she rarely does anything dangerous. Sometimes her maternal instincts get in the way of her judgment with the younger Clan members, causing her to let some of them off easily. When around her brother she is even more of a goof off than with her close friends. She almost always follows what they do, just enjoying spending time with them. Normally she is not very submissive and has a stubborn streak to rival a mule.

Sired by a ThunderClan black tom Damperpelt and the ThunderClan queen (bordering on elder at the present) Arrowpelt, Mewingkit was brought into the world by the Medicine Cat Greypatch. She was born with gray fur, her eyes closed as all others. Her parents also sired one other kit, granting her with a brother who seemed to inherit all the strength.

Upon entering apprenticeship to Shadowpelt she was given the name of Silencepaw, due to her shyness. Because she lacked the strength most cats of her age, she was considered weak. However, Shadowpelt did not give up on her. Instead the black tom trained her harder than others. Soon her speed was greater than any other apprentices and her leaps had great distance. It was only until she could tire out all the other apprentices in mock battles was she allowed to train her strength, allowing her to learn how to use her opponents movements against them in battle, causing them to take damage as well as to be tired out.

Ashfur eventually became ThunderClan's deputy, and after her death, she was succeeded by Roseclaw.
