Long Description :

Fadedcloud is a very odd looking cat. He is very small, with large paws and ears. His pelt is a creamy silver marble swirl, while his back is a tan ginger color. On the back of his legs there are brown patches. His claws are very short, but also very sharp. His tail is long furred and silky, while every other pelt strand on his tail is a faded cream. His head is small for his body, but his ears balance him out, so he does not look too awkward. His eyes are a very vibrant electric blue, but the color has faded over time, so it is a lighter blue.

Personality

Fadedcloud is a very short-tempered cat, but more so than Thornpelt. He enjoys laying out in the sun, but becomes even more short tempered when it becomes cold, for his bones become stiff. He hates when young cats try to show off, and then do something mousebrained and get into trouble. Most of his snappishness has come from age, but he is very wise for having many apprentices in his day.

Full History :

Born into WindClan with his older and younger sister Oakkit and Petalkit, Wingkit knew this was were he belonged. Among the Clan hunting, sharing tounges, and fighting alongside friends to defend his territory, it was his greatest ambition. He quickly made friends with many cats, though he only considered Hollowkit and Fallenkit his closest friends. Immediately he was considered to be one of the best of the kits, a cat worthy of becoming warrior fastest, and maybe deputy. However, Wingkit never liked the idea of becoming a deputy, then leader. It would put too much distance between him and his friends, he reasoned. So, he went to his friends who were sorely disappointed when he told them his ambition was not to be deputy. Fallenkit, a pretty light brown tabby with big ambitions told him that she was not his friend anymore. Wingkit was crushed, and he went around in his last three moons as a kit in a daze.

When he was finally made an apprentice, he was named Smudgepaw for the smudge-like patches on the back of his legs, and for the way his eyes had paled a bit, though they were still a vibrant electric blue. Smudgepaw trained well, and was proud of his mentor, who was his father Riverpelt. Riverpelt trained Smudgepaw to his limits, pushing the young apprentice to further boundries each day. It was only around his 10th moon when Smudgepaw limped back into camp, claw marks stretching along his pelt, and blood oozing from a huge wound on his haunch. When he was asked who did this to him, he replied Riverpelt. When his father walked arrogantly back into camp, Smudgepaw was sitting in the middle of the clearing, his head raised defiantly. Sitting at his sides was Hollowpaw, the black tom who was his best friend, and his two sisters, Petalpaw and Oakpaw. When Riverpelt lunged forward to attack his son, warriors hurled out of the shadows, pinning the tom to the floor. He was exiled that night, being banned from any part of WindClan territory. Smudgepaw was horrified when that night Petalpaw approached him and said that she was going with her father. She told him that he was the best thing that ever happened to them, and that she couldn't give that up. Smudgepaw watched her go, his heart felt as if it were breaking. He went back to the medicine cat den where he found Fallenpaw waiting for him. She appologized and asked if they could be friends again. Smudgepaw said yes, and the two cats went happily about their next days.

Soon however, things changed. When Hollowpaw, Smudgepaw, and Fallenpaw went to go and hunt, they found Petalpaw and Riverpelt by the gorge. Filled with fury, the three young cats launched themselves at the intruders. Petalpaw and Fallenpaw tussled, and Petalpaw got tossed over the edge. Smudgepaw watched as his sisters head sank out of sight. He spun around and saw that Riverpelt had pinned Fallenpaw down, his teeth buried in her neck. Smudgepaw lunged for his father, and yowled for Hollowpaw to go get help. His friend launched himself away, and Smudgepaw managed to send Riverpelt fleeing. When Hollowpaw returned with Featherflight, Oakpaw, and their leader, they found Smudgepaw with his nose pressed to Fallenpaw's pelt. The leader spoke an ancient ritual over Fallenpaw, naming her Fallencloud so she could go to StarClan as a warrior. When Fallencloud died, Smudgepaw's eyes paled again so that they were just a shadow of the former vibrant blue. But for some reason, they still retained their electric blueness. Because of his eyes, he was renamed as Fadedpaw.

Fadedpaw continued to be an outstanding apprentice, despite the death of his sister and friend. Hollowpaw helped him get over his sadness, though the deeply buried wound of his dead friends never left. He reflected that Oakpaw was still alive, and he became more energetic about training. Three moons later, Oakpaw was named Oaktail. During that time, they entered leafbare. Fadedpaw often wandered around camp. Suddenly, he heard news that three warriors had fallen ill. He spun around and hurried to the medicine cats den. As he approached, he saw the brown tabby pelt of Oaktail inside the bracken and thorns. He cried out in anguish, as he learned she had greencough. He spent all night by her side, and was terribly saddened when she died the next morning. However, she told Fadedpaw that she was glad to die, to leave the horrible world that she could never call home. He became gladdened at that, and the news that Hollowpaw and Featherflight were still alive boosted his spirits. Over the next moon and a half, he trained hard, attending gatherings with Hollowpaw and participating in border fights.

In the middle of leafbare, he and Hollowpaw were named warriors. He was given the name Fadedpelt, and Hollowpaw Hollowheart. He and Hollowheart became known as two of the best warriors in the Clan. Both of them were proud and fierce. Fadedpelt was given an apprentice with the name of Breezepaw. He trained Breezepaw well for thirteen moons, when Breezepaw became Breezeflight. The day after Featherflight died of old age. The same day the found Riverpelt's body dead near the gorge. Fadedpelt rejoiced at the news that his father was dead and that his mother had lived a long life.

Around 50 moons, when both warriors were preparing to become elder, Hollowheart went out on a lone hunting mission. Fadedpelt became so puzzled because his friend had been gone for the entire day. When he went out to search for his friend, he found him dead in the sea of gorse. He had been bitten by an adder the medicine cat told him. Fadedpelt was sad, but his friend had had a long life. He went to his leader, requesting that he be given the name cloud in his name to honor his dead friends. Especially Fallencloud, because she had been his first love. The leader consented, and Fadedpelt was changed to Fadedcloud. Fadedcloud went to join the elders, after a long life in service of his Clan.

When he was 55 moons old, his new mate, Whisperwings, gave birth to a litter of two fuzzy white kits. He loved his two kits, Tundrakit and Icekit. But five moons later, Whisperwings, an aging warrior, was swiftly taken by greencough. He never quite recovered from the loss, and became even more secluded and bitter. Two moons later, he left his apprenticed kits and his beloved clan - even if he wouldn't admit it - at the age of sixty-two moons.
