Long Description :
Mothflight is a lean, lanky she-cat of slightly larger than average size. She quite enjoys her height and carries herself to the fullest extent of it. Much of her face is patched with ginger tabby, as are her back and flanks; the remainder of her short fur is white. As with her legs, her tail is thin and a bit longer than the norm. Her eyes are greenish-yellow.

Personality
Mothflight is a very easygoing cat with a somewhat casual approach to life -- which has gotten her into trouble for laxness on more than one occasion. She tends to take the path of least resistance. As a warrior, she has learned, this means doing what she's told...though she lacks much motivation beyond avoiding the fuss of being told off. Self-confident and social, she much enjoys the company of her clanmates. Her general nonchalance ensures that she feels comfortable in any setting, with any company. Mothflight is loyal to her Clan and accepts her place in it, but is perhaps not as passionate regarding it (and the Code) as others might be.

History

Full History :
Born in the early leaf-bare moon of Cheetah's Flight ('06), Mothkit and her sister Hazelkit were the offspring of two good friends, Mallownose and Foxflare. Both parents were well into middle age when the kits were born, and they knew their first litter would be their last. Mothkit and Hazelkit quickly established their individual personalities: where Hazelkit was eager and energetic, Mothkit was the one to hang back and watch her sister get into trouble. In spite of their disparity, there was real affection between them, and so it remained through their time in the nursery.
Hazelpaw, meanwhile, had been making great progress in her training. Mothpaw exerted herself uncharacteristically to catch up to her sister, and managed to do so. They took their warrior names together at twelve moons as another leaf-fall began. Mothpaw became Mothflight, while Hazelpaw became Hazelbrook. At this occasion, as with so many before, Hazelbrook was unabashedly enthusiastic while Mothflight was nonchalant (though she was inwardly very pleased to be done with her training). In her new status, Mothflight became more social than she had been, enjoying the varied company of the other warriors. Her younger self had tended to sit back and watch conversations from a distance; now, she joined them readily, although her general insouciance remained the same. As far as duties went...she had learned her lesson as an apprentice, and she had no wish to put herself through further trouble with authority. Her attitude had not changed much, but she had figured out how to bury it sufficiently to avoid notice. In the Moon of First Green ('08), a little over a year and a half after becoming warriors, Mothflight and her sister were hunting in the Heathland treeline when Hazelbrook -- as eager as ever -- took chase after a young squirrel. Mothflight, busy with her own hunt, did not realize her sister was barreling headlong towards the Thunderpath until she heard the sound of a monster's passing interrupted by a dull thump. The monster stopped; Mothflight, too, fell still until it went on its way again. When she went to look, she found that Hazelbrook had been left broken and bloody on the side of the path. Death came in moments, and Mothflight, perhaps for the first time, found herself overcome with emotion. She recovered her outer cool soon enough, but the pain of her sister's loss lingered for some time. There were soon other matters to draw her attention: Blackstar's bit of Gathering drama; the arrival of the heron and the terror it sowed in the Clan; and, most recently, the bitter leaf-bare that left the Clan hungry and worn thin. During these times, Mothflight's apathetic tendencies bowed to necessity, and she worked hard for her own survival and that of her clanmates. However, relative peace has brought her back to her usual self. |
