Long Description :
Nearly everything about the tom was colored some shade of gray, from his eyes to his long, shaggy pelt. Even his claws, nose, paw pads, and teeth were a dull, opaque grey. Three of his legs were mangled and misshapen; the remaining whole one was somewhat bowlegged. The stout-chested Nettletongue was built low to the ground. He had a bottlebrush tail that appeared almost spiky. His flat, disk-like face was often set into a disagreeable, stubborn expression.

Personality
Armed with a droll wit and a tongue that did his name justice, Nettletongue was obstinate, determined, and irascible. While not unkind, he did nothing to spare other's feelings. The former warrior enjoyed hurling inventive insults at others. More than his scowls, however, he took pride in maintaining his knowledge of fighting and hunting skills, even after his accident rendered his legs next to useless.

History

Full History :
Nettletongue never forgot his WindClan roots, though he ended up spending more moons outside the Forest than within it. He was quite bitter for a while after his accident with farm machinery that stripped him of the use of three of his legs and his livelihood. He had been whisked away by the farmer of said machinery, and eventually was taken under the roof of a big-hearted Twoleg whose self-appointed niche in life was to provide repose to animals in need of it.
During the remainder of his life, he lived as a housecat, though unwillingly. The shaggy tom met many cats (and other creatures), but two cats made a particular impression on him: Ambergaze, and Chutzpah. He was a role model and father figure, respectively, to the two younger toms, and they brought him happiness in his later years that he hadn't experienced since his exile. In the Moon of Running Prey (2007), Nettletongue snapped at a new houseguest, a burly feral. Upon taking offense, the feral leapt at the elderly tom with claws unsheathed. Though Nettletongue refused to back down, he was already of failing health and was no match for his opponent; he died almost instantly from a blow to his neck. |

General :
Nettletongue was once a WC warrior. 3 legs were mutilated by farm equipment. Without the aid of the farmer in question, Nettletongue would've gone into shock and died. His clan assumed him dead. Nettletongue never returned to the Forest; by the time he could walk again, he wasn't sure if he could find his way home again, much less make it all the way back to camp safely. The main reason was shame, however; the proud tom couldn't bear the thought of being a burden to his clan, nor his friends and kin seeing him in such a sorry state. Had he been injured in defending WC in battle, he'd have borne his lame legs with considerable more pride.
