RE: Application

Welcome to CoSC, Jakko. For character creation information, please consult the Character Creation Area and the Help & FAQ Section (Specifically the Guide to Creating a Character). If you have any questions not covered by the governing areas, just let me know.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 03:52, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Copyright Violation

Your image upload was deleted because it did not include information on the copyright of the image. You must have permission from the creator of the image to use it on this site. Please also note that character images are intended to be made through the Imagery Project.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 04:51, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Name Conflict

Unfortunately, the name Lighteningstrike was used previously. This was on the Old Site, but it's a character who is still pending import. The original character was a part of the Rise of the Killer plot. Sorry.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 04:56, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

RE: Wiki

The software that forms the foundation of a Wiki is freely available at www.mediawiki.org for anyone to download and use if they have a web space that is compatible (there are no free hosts that let you do this). I own www.kitsufox.com, which I pay for, and that's why I can put together a site that far surpasses any other RP site out there for sheer functionality and cool tools.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 16:54, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

RE: Map

The map is still copyrighted, acctually, to the Warriors folks. But due to their public and embracing policy towards online RPs, it's been effectively released into the public domain via fair use where RPs and websites are concerned. In the same way that the book concepts, clan names and other copyrighted content from the books are. It's one of the fuzzier areas of copyright.

The CoSC was made using a photoshop brush I downloaded from a website. I then proceeded to color it by hand, make a few modifications to the map (compare it to the book one and you'll see what I mean). And I added in the borders that I think are correct. I've only recently acquired a version of the Lake map that's clean, and that I didn't even find myself, I think Gorse may have put it together herself.

Anyways, it boils down to one of the areas of copyright that things get sort of fuzzy. Fair Use is difficult to ascertain at times. Particularly where online RPGs are concerned. RPGs are really just giant copyright violations in the way that fanfiction is. Fuzzy fuzzy.

Sorry. I don't have the link at the moment. I'd have to track it back down (and don't have time at the moment). The link was on my old PC, which is currently stored away in a closet because it's only used when my Lappy or Hubby's PC is down.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 04:53, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

RE: Application

Please consult the Guide to Creating a Character. It provides links to many very useful references that could have answered all of those questions.

If you combine "sire*: List the name of your character's sire, which may not appear already on the Character List unless you have express permission (publicly posted on family finder) to create a sibling or relative of another character. Do not include any Wiki-markup with the name, it will be provided by the template." and "dame*: List the name of your character's dame, which may not appear already on the Character List unless you have express permission (publicly posted on family finder) to create a sibling or relative of another character. Do not include any Wiki-markup with the name, it will be provided by the template." from the Character Documentation with the Bans against the creation of Kits & Apprentices you could have worked this out.

For your character's history, you MUST familiarize yourself with our Game Canon and the Clan Traditions.

If you have any more specific questions, just let me know.  Kitsufox  Fox's Den 21:36, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
