Ashleaf is an average-sized she-cat, although she has a lithe, skinny build, giving her the skills of a good hunter, runner, and a sleek, quick fighter. She’s a longhaired cat, with torbie calico markings. She has color on her ears, paws, tail, and a few splotches on her lower back. She has sharp olive eyes that often convey her sharp glare.

Ashleaf thinks herself a good enough warrior of RiverClan, who’s loyal and holds the clan in high respect, most of the time. She can be sharp-tongued and short-tempered when she’s stressed, angry, upset, or tired, but usually she controls herself and makes sure she’s patient and respectful, and tries not to cause more drama than what’s already going on. She’s a brash fighter when she’s enraged, a weakness of hers; although, when she’s calm she thinks things through and is tactful.

Ashleaf was born to two older cats in the clan, Alderfire, a red and white tom, and Amberfoot, a she-cat quite like herself, as Leafkit. She was the only kit in the pair’s only litter. Simply to say her mother coddled her and was overly-protective, and she grew to six moons knowing all the stories of the past and lots of stories about being an apprentice.

She was apprenticed to a tom named Dustspot as Leafpaw. He was a good cat and taught Leafpaw well. Leafpaw matured into a more adult cat, her short temper becoming obvious, but she also learned tolerance and respect, and most importantly, tact, for her temper and lack of tact was getting her many punishments, even though she loved the elders. Growing up in the Great War, though, meant she was a hardened fighter and extremely loyal to her clan. When she was nearly a warrior, a close friend caught an infection after a battle with ThunderClan and died.

When Leafpaw was 15 moons old, she became a warrior under the name of Ashleaf, taking her kitname into her warrior name. She was a good runner and hunter, although her fishing skills were better when she was calmer. Ashleaf enjoyed hunting with her friends and anyone in the clan, being very social and active. Her father, Alderfire, was killed by an infection after a battle with ThunderClan, soon before a battle between RiverClan and WindClan. At the battle, she was upset and confused, her brash actions not mixing well. She was trapped under the claws of an enemy warrior, coming down on her fast to do away with her. Ashleaf barely managed to get away in time, rolling swiftly out of the way, his claws only scraping one deep cut and two smaller ones behind her left ear. She leaped up onto the warrior, enraged, and gave him something he wouldn’t soon forget, leaving him in the dust. She now has three scars behind that ear and a story to tell. But soon after, her mother gave birth to another litter of kits, who became Reedwhisker and Birdtail.

When she was 21 moons old, Ashleaf was given an apprentice. The young white she-cat was slightly hyperactive and distracted constantly. Ashleaf found the apprentice frustrating, although she trained her like her mentor had trained her. But the apprentice constantly disobeyed, though, and would often forget about training sessions, punishments, and patrols. When Ashleaf was 29 moons old, and her apprentice was nearly a warrior, the apprentice disappeared. Several patrols couldn’t find her apprentice. Ashleaf felt as if she had failed as a mentor to the apprentice, and wants to have another, so she can teach a cat who will actually contribute to RiverClan.
