Appearance   Short Description : A tawny gold spotted tabby she-cat with gold eyes Long Description : Flamedust's pale tawny-gold pelt has an unusual leopard pattern with dark splotches and thin stripes. A dark strip of fur runs along her spine, starting at the back of her skull and ending at her tail tip- her tail being banded with stripes. She has golden eyes (once blue-grey in kithood and early apprenticeship) and her ears seem unusually large for her fine, delicately chiseled facial features and lean, petite frame.

Personality     As a kit, Flamedust was quick to armor herself with a headstrong persona and barbed tongue. One could psychoanalyze this as a frightened, lonely kit's reaction to the deaths of mother and siblings - or you could simply blame it on the gene pool and leave it at that. Well into apprenticeship, Cheetahpaw remained sarcastic, disdainful, often unfriendly, and occasionally downright rude - but slowly, as time progresses and under the guardianship of her fellow Clanmates, Flamedust is beginning and continues to shed these prickly tendencies. Of course, she'll probably always be a tad foolhardy, a little too rash and independent, possibly, on occasion (or not) slightly sassy, saucy, even, say, impertinent. But, then again, she wouldn't be Flamedust if she wasn't.

History   Key Dates   Born Nettlekit in the Moon of Cheetah's Flight (2005) Apprenticed as Cheetahpaw in the Moon of the Markedkit (2006) Named a Warrior as Flamedust in the Moon of Running Prey (2006) Killed by a predator in the Moon of Turning Leaves (2008) Full History : Flamedust was born Nettlekit to a ThunderClan she-cat named Dustflower, a dilute torbie, along with two siblings - Antlerkit, a cream tabby tom-kit, and Cricketkit, a glossy brown spotted tabby she-kit. Their father was Longflame, a big, brown spotted tabby tom, but Nettlekit never knew him, for he disappeared on a patrol a few moons before Dustflower's litter was born. Longflame was never seen again, and was assumed dead, killed by cats from another Clan or a fox sighted soon before his disappearance, by the cats of his Clan. Two moons after Nettlekit's birth, greencough tragically struck and killed her mother. Soon after, Antlerkit, the youngest and smallest -really, runt - of the three, died of hunger without a nurse-mother. Two days after Antlerkit's death, Cricketkit, too, passed on to StarClan - her of the same greencough that took Dustflower. The one called Nettlekit, though, continued to survive - which the Medicine Cat attributed to her sheer fiery will to live. She grew thin and weak but refused to die, and with herbs and small amounts of fresh-kill, began to recover within a moon. After becoming an apprentice (mentored by Ruddyback) Nettlekit was awarded (by Bloodstar) the decidedly more flattering name of Cheetahpaw. She soon proved herself to be a downright challenge after more than a few escapades, including: a bungled solo 'hunt' in the midst of a snowstorm soon after becoming an apprentice, a miserable hunting evaluation, one or two brazen displays of disrespect for ThunderClan's leader, a dash of border-crossing, a spot of prey-terrorizing; and, later on, a full-out, claw-versus-claw battle assesment with the ThunderClan deputy, Roseclaw. Well... what's apprenticeship if not a learning experience? Cheetahpaw made her first trip to the Highstones, along with an ailing Bloodstar, in mid-January, shortly after the sacred truce was so flagrantly broken at said month's Gathering - an event which she would have - but did not (on account of previous discrepancies) - attend; nonetheless she ended up hearing all about it. Cheetahpaw was chosen to escort ThunderClan's leader on this sacred journey in light of her inexperience as an apprentice, Bloodstar's own gesture of trust in StarClan. All previous stunts and antics aside, Cheetahpaw was given the warrior name of Flamedust (in honor of both her deceased mother and disappeared father) in her thirteenth moon, a name she rose to with both pride and honor and bears to this day. Flamedust was slain on the 10th day of the Moon of Turning Leaves (2008) by the fox while out hunting with Shardclaw, who died that same day.
