Just so you're aware, tables are much easier to use if you take advantage of templating. For how to do it and an easy-edit form to use to set things up, check out the Character Tablemaker. It'll make your life easier. (and when we're errors like the strange word-break behavior we have happening in tables all of the sudden) I edit one page and all of the tables get fixed.

Just checking in, Flameswipe, to see how you've been doing since I was here switching your discussion page over to flow, which is much more user-friendly for those not used to a wiki environment. Let me know if there's anything I can help you with right now.
I think I'm getting the hang of things. I'm rather embarrassed that it took this long, but I suppose it's better late than never. I've been reading over the rules and lore of CoSC and I think I'm almost ready to begin my RP proper. I've just got a few questions about how inter-cat exchanges are handled. In a conversation, is it better to write a short post and let the other cat reply, or assume their answer? Also, your rules regarding 'idle' players seem to have limited the number of active players to about ten or so. Even assuming each player has three cats, that wouldn't fill all of the openings within the Clans. When interacting with those playerless cats, does the Clan leader take over their roles, can their dialogue be assumed, or is there a different method? Sorry for all these questions, but I'd rather do it right. Thanks for all your help!
Definitely better late than never!
The idle players are simply those not active. Their lack of activity would be the same regardless of if they were identified or not. Currently, we're in a period of transition and rebuilding, so it's going to improve. In our prime we've run 30+ players.
Generally speaking, try to avoid initiating RP with characters without players. You'd never get a response. Fae and I are actively working on the lists (culling them down) and hoping that we'll be functioning with invisible NPCs until a larger player base can be put together again. When it comes to ranks, we usually have a player handling playing the NPC. When it doubt I'm a good guess.
As for RP, you cannot play another person's characters. So you would control your own character until you hit a point where you need input from them, and then stop. There are instances where you might mildly power play, but that would only be done in cases where you had express permission.
I'd also much rather have questions coming out of my ears then having to fight with cleaning up a mess caused by someone simply not asking.
Awesome! One last question: how many cats are currently in each Clan? I'm looking at WindClan in particular, but if the Clans are currently unbalanced when it comes to players, I'd like to join elsewhere instead.
You don't need to worry about that too much. I actually review the bans and ban clans that get way ahead of others. I'm just about to revisit, actually. It's that time of the month. If you want to peak for yourself, there's actually a readout with the counts on the Character Creation Mainpage.

I put an adoption offer on Snowdust. I'm not sure if you get notified on those, but I'll admit that I'm a bit impatient and I'd like to bring it to your attention.
Has she been played before? I've been reading through all the WindClan posts but I can't find her active anywhere.
I believe she was played previously, but you might have to go to the Legacy Site where the decommissioned old forum software lives. Unfortunately, the developer behind the previous edition of the software for the forum stopped maintaining it, and as it was an extension the core software kept being advanced... And it no longer works with the up to date version of the website. The legacy site preserves all of that RP. With luck you'll find something there.
I'll take a look at the adoption request, though I have to have a chat with Fae about it. We normally don't permit an adoption as a first character. But we've been discussing adjusting rules anyways, so I'll check with her. Expect some feedback shortly.
Okay, I managed to grab Fae for a chat. She's been pretty busy with family this holiday weekend, so I wasn't sure how quickly I'd be able to turn that around.
Normally players are not permitted an adoption as a first character, but you're going to be the first pilot test of an alternate system! We've accepted the application "In Trust", pending you editing the application to include an RP sample. More details are available about what we're looking for in the comment I made to the application.
