Navigation: Index Public Service Announcements 24 - Living Off Camera

The idea of making it possible for characters to "Live Off Camera" came up in a thread in which the staff was discussing the futures of adoptables. It seemed like a very sensible way to deal with young cats from the non-clan sphere who are specifically difficult to randomly kill off. It also keeps the option of them having the potential to be returned to camera should a suitable adopter show up later, or a reason for them to return crop up IC. Herein lies the rules that I'll eventually find a better home for.

Moving Off Camera

Process for Adoptable Characters

  1. The staff identifies the character as a candidate to live off camera.
  2. Proper channels are followed and templates are applied
    • Status Changed to "Living (Off Camera)"
    • The character is made adoptable using the Special Form.
    • Character is kept locked as if adoptable
    • {{Petition}} template is placed on the talk page so users can use the Form

FOR PC CHARACTERS

Possible in the future, but as of now, not generally available. Will be implemented at the time when player-offered adoptions that are not NPC or Kit will be started again.

Returning to Camera

  1. Player Decides to take on the character and fills out the form on the talk page to "Petition for Return to Camera". This should include an explanation appropriate to the character type for where the character went.
  2. Administration reviews the offer as if it was a regular adoption and approves or denies the petition.
  3. (IF APPROVED) The character is unlocked, stripped of templates no longer needed, and transferred to the new player.

Elimination of Off Camera Characters

Characters who reach ages suited to death off camera will simply have status changed and off camera templates removed and sheets unlocked. No fuss. No muss.
