Appearance   Short Description : An aging purebreed sorrel Abyssinian tom with dark gold eyes Long Description : Getting a bit stocky in his old age, Socrates looks the part of the noble lord of all he surveys (and that is true when he's within his yard). His coat is dense, and colored in an argoti red shade reminiscent of dried blood. His chin and part of his chest are a paler, golden-red and his face is marked with that same color around his dark gold eyes. For being a bit on the older side, he's in rather good health, which shows in the gleam of his pelt and the still supple movements of his body.

Personality     Even is the very word that sits at the heart of his temperament, now that he's older. In fact, though most of his life he's been calm and deliberate, with only one short stint (during which he had nearly followed Gingertail into the world of the Clans forever) in which he had ever considered leaving his own yard. Now he takes pains to avoid contact with the feral cats of the clans, in an effort to protect Gingertail and his own offspring from the trouble that would befall them if he (whom his son certainly bears a striking physical resemblance to) became known to the clans.

History   Key Dates   Born and dubbed Socrates in the Moon of Lion's Glory (2000) Registered as Socrates of Whitehart Full History : Having been born several miles away in the small village of Riverdowns, Socrates was the 'pick of the litter' in a planned mating between his mother, Riverdown Hill's Ophelia and Sir Aristotle of Whitehart. Aristotle and Socrates had lived together for many years, though Aristotle was old he made an effort to teach his young son everything he could. Because of this, Socrates is well versed in the works of Shakespeare in addition to being at least somewhat fluent in the noisy language of the humans. Aritstotle's death nearly three years ago and Socrates' happenstance meeting of Gingertail, then a Warrior of ThunderClan, nearly led to the pampered pet taking to the woods. It was only his knowlege, though the play Macbeth, the made the Tom cat hesitate. The hesitation led to his choice to stay with his current life. To this day, he is sobered by the regret of his choice not to go. And every day his misses Gingertail, whom he cannot see without risking her place, and that of their children within the clan.
