Females and immature birds are less eye-catching than the males; dull olive feathers cover most of their bodies, although their throat, rump, and undertail are a clearer yellow or yellow-green. Their wings have green edges, but everywhere else are a dusky color that is a mixture of grey, brown, and olive.

Behavior: | In the months of summer, these cardinals feed during the day among the tree canopies in the forest of ThunderClan, the River Copse of RiverClan, the Treeline of WindClan, and the SouthPlains and Forest's Edge of ShadowClan. Females build their nests up high in trees, in which they lay one to six eggs in a clutch. Either parent may be seen bringing food to their young once they hatch, or else carrying away in their beak their offspring's droppings.
Social Organization: | Scarlet Tanagers migrate to the clan lands in flocks, then breed and rear young in monogamous pairs.
Approval Level*: | None; They are abundant during the summer in any forested area in the clans.
Kill Difficulty: | Low; The Scarlet Tanager has no defenses against a cat.
Hunting Difficulty: | Advanced; Scarlet Tanagers are difficult to reach as they prefer to fly in the tree canopy rather than descending to the ground, and they also have an alarm call they sound if they feel threatened.
Food Quality: | Medium; These songbirds are delicious and rich in nutrients, though on the small side.
