I'm not trying to criticize the site--if anything, I think it's a wonderful way for fans to share their love for Warriors.  It just feels skewed somehow.  Definitely intimidating to try to jump into.  It feels like you've created an entire world, complete with history and lore, and although it's a lovely world, it isn't quite Warriors anymore.  I guess what I'm getting at is: How can I learn about the "current" state of the forest, the past events, and the characters, without flipping between pages and getting lost between COSC and the canon events of the books?  I'd love to jump on in but I'd like to know what I'm doing and what you're expecting of me first.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thought about using the profile board function, wasn't sure if that was a good idea, so, I'm back on your talk page. I don't seem able to add my application to the SC MCA page? It throws up an error if I try to preview or anything.

Thanks again!

Ahh I see what you mean now about the time tag and other pages. I'm a little confused by this site, as you can see lol. It's not what I'm used to but I'll get the hang of it. And don't worry about my character if you're busy, I understand and take your time :) Tawnywing (talk) 19:32, 17 July 2013 (CDT)

Ooh cool, I will definitely check out that page! One of my favorite parts of joining a new site is exploring and learning all about it. And thank you for the notice! I read over the all of the results and will change them now. No specific questions on Cedarcrest so far, though I know the Powerplaying is going to give me some trouble. Tawnywing (talk) 19:53, 17 July 2013 (CDT)

Cedarcrest is re-submitted. I also wasn't sure where else to put this, in regards to your comment on his result page - yes, semi-cobby with a small build is a great short description for him. I slightly changed his appearance description on his page to comply with your notes but that SD will still work. Tawnywing (talk) 21:32, 17 July 2013 (CDT)

A Hopeful Request

I had a few questions about character creation that I was hoping to clear up with you before I proceed.

Thanks in advance!

Stormfall's Request :D

We talked a little about a table for Stormfall. The picture I ended up with is this: Image Here

The colors don't quite match, but I'd love if it was greyscaled. I was hoping for a grey theme all together.

I do have a quote if one should be included. But, it's not required.

Born to Legacy Change Complications

I'll keep this updated, but right now these are the characters I've run into some trouble with!

Cedarfang's History

All right, what should I change to make his history better?

Chestnutwing

I would like to put Chestnutwing in storage for now, until I have some spare time to finish him. -Ptero

Re:Ivynose

(you know already but I felt I should reiterate here for officialness) Due to overwhelming factors affecting me in real life, even though I am a new member here I'm sorry to say I need to go into a hiatus. I probably should have done so before but I've been absent-minded as of late.

The hiatus will last until December 10th when my finals are over and my winter break begins, which will allow me the time I need to fully understand the history of the rpg here and properly complete Ivynose's page.

Forum Issue

I'm sorry to say I still can't access forum threads. Login is still acting a wee bit squirrely, too. (Hawke (talk))

Sorry to be a broken record, since I'm sure you've got a lot on your plate right now, but unfortunately I still can't get to threads. Maybe it's something on my end? I've re-cleared the cache several times to try and fix things. On the bright side, your refresh advice worked just fine, login is green across the board. (Hawke (talk))

That's...exceptionally strange, because I definitely confirmed my e-mail before--I was having difficulties starting Blackhush's sheet, then realized it was because of the e-mail confirmation. Once I clicked the link, I was able to properly post the new page and all that. But I just went back and clicked the confirmation link again and now I can see forum posts?? I guess it's a good thing I kept the e-mail. And of course now I'll make sure I continue to keep it, so I can just...click it again and rerereconfirm if I have to. Either way, it seems to be working now! (Hawke (talk))

Re: the Google+/Hangouts bit: I don't have either of 'em, but I could get one. Is one particularly better than the other, or no?? (Hawke (talk) 20:31, 16 May 2017 (UTC))

Blackhush questions/discussion

I gotta say, I do wish there was a PM-type system up and running. I'm a little embarrassed at the prospect of asking stupid questions out in the open. But uh, here goes:

Re: kithood infirmity: I admit, I was under the impression that sometimes there are nonspecific reasons an individual might be born weaker (the whole 'runt of the litter' thing you hear about sometimes), take longer to, uh, 'fill out', as it were, but eventually end up alright. After doing further research, though, I realize this was pretty stupid of me. I can nix all that, if you like, and find something else to add color to his backstory.

Re: snakebite: I was originally basing the event of some anecdotal evidence I heard--the snake missed a full bite so it didn't get a chance to inject, and the guy just suffered intense but fairly brief and localized pain from what was basically a trace amount of venom. But if that seems too, uh, convenient for Blackhush's backstory, perhaps it could have been an attempt at a dry bite? I think that still would have left quite an impression on him. Alternately, what sort of long-term effects do you think would be appropriate, if my other suggestions aren't working for you? I did some reading, but it's not easy to find good data on long-term effects of venomous snakebites, and most of those involve full envenomation, which, in addition to being inaccurate, seem too severe for him to still be a warrior, I think. You suggested a 'minor twitch', but I want to make sure I 100% understand how that would play out in RP.

I'm sorry for being difficult, by the way! I know these are some unusual things I'm stubbornly sticking to, but I hope I'm not giving you too much trouble! Hawke (talk) 07:41, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

I did some research on heart murmurs, and it looks like that's a good, viable option, I think. It was a bit difficult because it seems like heart murmurs in cats can differ pretty wildly, so info is a wee bit conflicting, but the overall picture I got was that cats do indeed get them, and it's not at all uncommon for kittens to be born with them and grow out of them. I'm not sure how symptomatic the so-called "innocent" (as in not-caused-by-heart-disease or anything like that) kittenhood heart murmurs are, but considering what a heart murmur is, it seems reasonable to extrapolate that a kit with a heart murmur would have difficulties exerting himself? I'd have to edit the timeline, though--research indicates that most "innocent" heart murmurs resolve themselves by six months, with outliers who recover closer to eight months. So Blackhush could have been apprenticed at six moons with a murmur and some resulting fragility/weakness, but at the eight-moon mark he grows out of it and is healthy, he just needs to do some catchup since he couldn't properly build endurance and whatnot with his issues. But by 10-11 moons, he's finally caught up to other cats his age and is doing just fine. And while info about progression and symptoms is all over the map, pretty much everything I've read seems to suggest that if a cat grows out of a heart murmur, it generally doesn't reoccur and the cat'll be healthy going forward. Obviously you have full veto power over this, but it seems like it works??

Also, re: snakebite: I did some thinking about how I'd play a "very subtle tremor[, p]otentially isolated to the area around the injury", since I wanna know what I'm getting into before running with this in his backstory, so my thoughts are: he took the fang-cut to the muzzle, so it would be, like, an involuntary twitching of the lips at times, and sometimes--especially when worked up--mild spams in the lips/jaw make it a little harder to enunciate, so he occasionally has a slight stutter. Not at all debilitating, but noticeable and annoying to him. How does that sound? Hawke (talk) 19:46, 17 May 2017 (UTC)

So how does this place work?

I've tried my best to make sense of the site in general but it seems that there's no easy way to join. The forums where the roleplay happens are buried five layers deep in submenus and it's impractical to read all of them to figure out what has already happened. All of the character descriptions reference things that I don't remember from any of the books. Cats of Camelot? Caligula? Even in the forums, the language isn't quite right. The moons are named? When is this all taking place, relative to the books? Is this world a strict Warriors world, of is it a Warriors-based alternate world? Also, the posts all have a fancy format with colours and pictures. How does all that work? I'm not trying to criticize the site--if anything, I think it's a wonderful way for fans to share their love for Warriors. It just feels skewed somehow. Definitely intimidating to try to jump into. It feels like you've created an entire world, complete with history and lore, and although it's a lovely world, it isn't quite Warriors anymore.
