Check Results - 9 October 2009

I'd like to start by welcoming you to CoSC and tell you that I'm happy to see a character submission. It's always great to see a new person who acctually gets their character underway. I'd also like to let you know that your character getting declined at least a time or two is completely normal. It's caused by the fact that our game pays far more attention to creating a congruent overriding history than any other game.

PERSONALITY

• he will become noticeably aggravated and prickly - Borderline powerplay because it forces other players not only to have their characters notice certain things, but to interpret those things in a certain way.
• Sootfur gained his irritable nature during his apprentice years, as he was not used to being around so many cats at once. - This makes little sense. He'd have been around the entire clan from pretty much the day his eyes and ears fully opened. Between the cats he shared the nursery with, and his adventures around camp (which would happen almost daily. Kittens are restricted to the nursery or anything) he would be able to know and recognize every cat in the clan, in addition to being used to the number of cats that normally occupy it.
• The fact that he had no siblings contributed to this, as he was only used to being around his mother, Birchfur, and occasionally his father, Aldertail. - He may not have had siblings, but the nursery was definetly not empty then. Check our the ThunderClan Age List. It dosen't show dead cats, but just looking at the living list you'll see that Eagleflight and Brightdawn were already born and living there when she was born. Then, when she was 3 months old the Deputy of the Clan, Cottonwhisker gave birth to a litter by the leader. You've picked a time when the nursery would have been hopping just with cats coming and going to visit given the size of the family tree shared by Bloodstar and Cottonwhisker.
• He hates to admit it, but he is genuinely afraid of entering into battle in fear that he may not come out alive. - This isn't so much as point for correction as it is me dropping you a tip about an event that would be able to help you back this up in a time period when there is little inter-clan battle. In the past year IC there has been pretty much a single altercation between clans. ThunderClan was involved, and a TC cat named Slateshadow died.

HISTORY

• Sootkit had a generally pleasant life as a kit, though quite solitary - See previous comments about the occupation of the nursery.

APPEARANCE: His pelt is light grey with darker stripes. - I apologize for only catching this now. Your character is a solid gray tabby, which means the coloration is under a heavy restriction (You must be a member in good standing with already approved characters and RP History showing activity over at least one full IC moon), and thusly you simply don't qualify. Something as simple as adding in white toes or paws would do the trick to make him approvalable.
