These ceremonies are those traditionally preformed by the King or another suitably ranked cat to attend to matters of rank, privilege, and propriety in the Cats of Camelot.

Oath of Fealty

KING/APPOINTED SPEAKER: "Do you, NAME, swear in good faith before God and the witnesses here to uphold and honor the laws of Camelot and the will of your Lord and King: KINGS-NAME?"
VASSAL: "I do so swear."
Alternate words can be substituted as needed or desired by the vassal.
KING: "Then I, NAME, do so accept your offer of fealty. As you uphold your duties as my vassal, so shall I uphold my duties as your liege."

Ceremony of Knighthood/Dameship

PREPARATIONS
The cat must stand vigil overnight (starting at sunset and going until sunrise ceremony begins) at the Royal Pool (Koi pond behind Pen's house where it holds court). As the sun rises the cat washes in the pool and awaits the beginning of the ceremony.
KING: speaking before the assembled court, after calling them to order. "NAME, Trained in the traditions and responsibilities of Knighthood, has earned the right to take the Oaths and join the Holy Order of the Knights of Camelot. He has spent the night in contemplation and prayer. He has purified himself, body and soul, to stand before all of you and God this day. NAME, come forward to stand before this court."
SQUIRE: Comes to stand facing the King, lowering their head in a deep bow.
KING: "Are you, NAME, prepared to uphold the knightly virtues of Humility, Kindness, Forgiveness, Diligence, Charity, Temperance, & Chastity?"
SQUIRE: "I am."
KING: "Are you, NAME, prepared to avoid the dishonorable sins of Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony & Lust?"
SQUIRE: "I am."
KING: "Do you, NAME, swear before God and these witnesses to uphold his holy name and defend the sanctity of His holy church?"
SQUIRE: I do so swear."
KING: "Do you, NAME, swear before God and these witnesses to keep faith and loyalty our Lord God and honor your oath of Fealty to your King and his successors?"
SQUIRE: I do so swear."
KING: "Do you, NAME, swear before God and these witnesses to honor and protect always those lands that fall within the domain of Camelot?"
SQUIRE: I do so swear."
KING: "Do you, NAME, swear before God and these witnesses to be the champion of the good, the right, and the just?"
SQUIRE: I do so swear."
KING: "Do you, NAME, swear before God and these witnesses to protect those cats who pay homage to our Lord God?"
SQUIRE: I do so swear."
KING: "Do you, NAME, swear before God and these witnesses to cast aside your personal interests and use your strength to banish evil from this realm?"
SQUIRE: I do so swear."
KING: "Do you, NAME, swear before God and these witnesses to back down from no adversary in your pursuit of the oaths you make this day?"
SQUIRE: I do so swear."
KING: "Do you, NAME, swear before God and these witnesses to speak no lie and hold yourself honorably to the oaths you make here, and any you should make in your life?"
SQUIRE: I do so swear."
KING: "Do you, NAME, swear before God and these witnesses to generously share your wealth for the good of this kingdom and its peoples?"
SQUIRE: I do so swear."
KING: "Do you, NAME, swear before God and these witnesses to bring pagan-kind into the light of God's love, or see them cast into the fires of hell if they so refuse our Lord God's forgiveness of their sinful ways?"
SQUIRE: I do so swear."
KING: Walks forward to within paws reach of the squire. Using the right paw, the king touches first the right shoulder, then the left, and ends with a light clout to the ear. "I dub thee Knight/Dame! Arise Sir/Dame NAME! Behold the world as a Knight/Dame of Camelot!"

Ceremony of Lordship/Ladyship

If a cat has not already undertake an oath of fealty and been dubbed knight or dame then the ceremony should be modified to include the additionally required oaths.
KING: "NAME, you have been found worthy of entry into the High Peerage of Camelot. Are you prepared to increase your service to the Kingdom of Camelot and take up the mantel of Lord/Lady?"
VASSAL: Bows down. "I am, my liege."
KING: "Then I, KINGsNAME, do so grant onto you the title and lands to which a lord/lady is deserving. Keep these lands in faith and goodness always. Arise Lord/Lady NAME."

Crowning

Prince/Princess

KING: Before the assembled court. "NAMEwithTITLESandHONORS is hereby acknowledged and crowned as heir to the thrown of Camelot. S/He will stand as King/Queen over all of you. They will honor the laws of Camelot, and serve the people with fairness in God's eyes."
CLERGY: "The eyes of God see the Crowning of the Prince/ess and acknowledge."


King/Queen

Christening Ceremony

Christening happens when the kittens are 2 weeks old. Each kitten in a litter has a Godparent selected for it (The same cat can be godparent to the entire litter, if so desired). At the selected time the parents, kits and godparents assemble at the Royal Pool. The part of the king could also be taken by a religious figure. The liturgy should be repeated for each kitten separately.
KING: "We have come together to welcome this child into the flock of our Lord God. FATHERsNAME, do you so swear to raise KITTENsNAME to know the ways and the love of our most holy God?"
FATHER: "I do."
KING: "MOTHERsNAME, do you so swear to raise KITTENsNAME to know the ways and the love of our most holy God?"
MOTHER: "I do."
KING: "GODPARENTsNAME, do you swear to do all in your power to encourage KITTENsNAME in his/her Christian life?"
GODPARENT: "I do."
KING: "KITTENsNAME, I baptize you in the name of the father, son and holy spirit, Amen." The king then dips his paw in the Royal Pool and uses the water to wet the kittens' forehead as he speaks the following. "The holy spirit work within you, so that being born through the water and the spirit you may be a faithful servant of Jesus Christ." Once the wetting is finish, end with "Remember your baptism always and be thankful, Amen."
