Over the last 4 days I've been working on a new project. One that solves a problems I identified. Even I have trouble using the Adoptions Setup on characters because it spanned 19 Templates and was a confusing mess of options. So I sat down, Analyzed the system, and identified the 8 functions that a new Adoptions System would need to be able to handle. Armed with this new list I was able to write up a single Mega-Template to integrate into the Character Sheet Template.

Now, if you want to do anything related to Adoption or Confiscation marking on a character sheet, you simply scroll to the new "Special Forms" links (where the old "Use the Full Edit Form" option used to live alone) and select the "Adoption" option. There a helpful form lets you make selections and you simply fill out the needed fields and save.

The most important part of this system is that Players May now use this system's "Offer for Adoption" option to privately offer their characters for adoption. For the first time ever there is only mild staff oversight in the matter.

When I was editing Mr. Gray, I decided to try to make him adoptable using this new system... but it didn't seem to work. At least, not that Fae can tell.
I used the "Adoption Special Form" and selected "Yes" and "Yes" to Is this character available for adoption? and Is this character off camera?
Under the "Adopt Text", I wrote: "Explain what the character has been doing in the time he was off camera."

Then an error message in red came up: "Warning: Character:Mr. Gray is calling Template:Character with more than one value for the "textadopt" parameter. Only the last value
provided will be used."

I then hit the link, "Go to editing area", and upon scrolling down, saw that inexplicably the Adopt. Text I typed, "Explain what the character has been doing in the time he was off camera,"
had been repeated under "KITTEN ADOPTABLE".

So I deleted that one, and saved. But while the character sheet looks adoptable, with the purple header up top, there are no instructions on how to adopt Mr. Gray on his Talk Page,
either...

EDIT: Oh, while we're on the subject of Mr. Gray.... is he a good candidate for being killed off? He's the NPC sire of adoptable albino Ophelia.
