Relationship tracking has always been a difficult topic here at CoSC, where matings must be approved to bear offspring. This new system is designed to permit more, while still maintaining the old standards and practices (with careful modification).

Rules

  1. Admins will make the decisions on these applications as they see fit. Application decisions may be appealed by applying for a private discussion hall. No discussion will be permitted to clutter this thread.
  2. Relationships applying to be tracked must be those capable of producing offspring. This means romantic relationships between two male or two female cats do not need apply, nor do relationships where one or both parties are spayed or neutered.*
  3. The following types of relationships are classed as major-plots, and must be approved prior to even attempting to develop the relationship: Relationships between cats of diffrent groups**
  4. The following types of relationships are classed as minor-plots, and must receive approval prior to producing offspring: Litters with multiple fathers, Litters born of cross-clan relationships, or Litters born of one-night stands.
  5. Effective 24 July 2010: If you get your application thread title wrong I will consider that to mean "I copied another post and didn't actually read or review the rules" and automatically decline tracking until you can be bothered to do things correctly.

The Disclaimer

Each application for a relationship tracking entry is considered individually. This means that different relationships might be held to different standards, and in participating in the relationship tracking program you are subjecting yourselves and your characters to whatever judgment the Admins have. This can include applying various public ratings to the pairing, or declining the pairing outright. The administration also reserves the right to change any standards, or enforce standards specific to a situation on applications as they see fit. Relationship tracking is highly subjective, and the admins reserve the right to be as subjective as they feel necessary to maintain the game gene-pools and storylines.

Application Instructions

Fill out the form and post it as a with the thread title described below, and await a reply by the admins. Accepted forms will be processed by the administration and added to the lists, and Declined ones will be deleted and an explanatory post made on the thread.

Gene Pool Contribution: The contribution to the gene pool of the group the litter will make. It is effected by the number of offspring the pair, and the individual components of the pair, already have.

Application Update Requests

Applications may be updated via request, using the following form.

SUBJECT SHOULD BE: Pairing Update - PAIRING

'''PAIRING''':
'''DESIRED CHANGE''':
'''EVIDENCE''':

Evidence: List the evidence that supports your change. Thread URLs are preferred to things like player agreement.

* This is not intended as a slight, but rather that the purpose of relationship tracking is for better communication as to when it is appropriate for a pair of characters to apply for a litter. Pairs that cannot produce offspring are not subject to this concern, and thus are not subjected to relationship tracking.

** Groups are defined as any group of characters that appears in the viewer. For purposes of relationship approval 'Clanless' cats are classed as a single group.
