Since we're using the Social Profile extension again, a new option is open to us.

Mediawiki Chat Extension is now possible. How does everyone feel about possibly shaping over to this instead of the cBox?

Speed and more moderation control would be the biggest improvements. Another potential option would be just pushing the google hangout and getting more people inited into a big group one like we used to with the AIM chatroom ;)

Hopefully we can get it working for everyone and have a day where many of us are in there and we can all chitty chat. (theoretically, right now I should be finishing packing for LARP. Instead I'm messing around on the internet).

It's working just fine for me now, although having to go into a particular log to see messages from before you entered was throwing me off a bit. I was expecting more of a c-box thing, at least for short-term/recent messages.

The chat is less permanent than the cbox system. The real advantage will be revealed when we actually get more than one person in there at once.

Is there a way to get to the Chatbox from CoSC's main page? I've only noticed the one link above...

The actual chat I don't have linked it, though it CAN be found by either typing "Special:Chat" into the search box, or going to the bottom of the Special Pages page.

I'm actually here to ask an all important question, it being "So, based on testing it appears we all really like having a proper chatroom of our own. Should we declare it a regular function and add it to the OOC menu?"

I think yes! It's great having a chat right here on COC and I would love if it was easily found on the OOC Menu.
