Appearance   Short Description : A small dark gray tom with a white underside and poor constitution Long Description : He is a rather small dark gray tom with a slight build, but not in a way that suggests great health or constitution. His bones stick out in a way that suggests at least slight malnutrition. His breathing is commonly heavy even after light exercise. His belly and toes are clean and white, as if dipped in bleach.

Personality     Suffering an almost constant sense of inferiority, Marshhawk is perfectly willing to work himself into a state of acute exhaustion in his desperation to prove that he's worthy of the name he doesn't feel he's earned. While young it was primarily his siblings he tried to live up to, but now he pulls himself in the direction of attempting to match any full warrior he has to work with. He refuses to let his health make him into a liability, though the traitorous way his body wears down before he's ready to stop is a constant source of frustration.

Through his youngest days, the weakness that accompanied his birth remained. He has, however, grained strength under the tender care of his mother and the Clan's Medicine Cat, his own Great Aunt. It was a shock for young Rushkit to be apprenticed with his siblings despite is clear inferiority to them. After he took on the name Hawkpaw, apprenticed to no less than the cat that would become the Deputy of the clan, he dragged himself forward desperately. He worked his paws to the bone, constantly choosing to ignore his weaknesses in favor of attempting to perfect his hunting abilities. Despite all his work, however, his training never progressed into lessons about battle by the time his much more advanced siblings were due to become warriors. On the night the meeting was called young Hawkpaw went, fully prepared to stand by the sidelines and watch his siblings become warriors while he either remained an apprenticed (or worse) was sent to join the elders in their den. Shame flooded him when, instead of either shunting him aside or keeping him in training, Whitestar gave him a name he had no right to have. Marshhawk, undeserving of his place in the Warriors den, was instructed that he was to hunt only. His shame that they found him unworthy of combat training and of being eligible to join the elders in quiet retirement was intense, and remains so to this day. Instead he works to prove that he's worthy to be given a chance to finish his training, refusing to stop and rest or work lightly as Sagepelt recommends. After a fateful day during a blizzard he mated with the Clan's deputy, Fogdancer. When she told him she was bearing his kits he was shocked. Even more-so when she announced that she would be telling all who the father was. He decided that he needed to push harder to be worthy. On the 22nd day of the Moon of Melting Waters this drive backfired on the tom when his already overtaxed heart gave out and he collapsed after a hunting trip (one that he was proud of, given that he had caught two very fine rats for the clan) and died at the western end of the Ratfields.
