Rosestorm is a small torbie she-cat with bright green eyes. Her fur is semi-long and noticeably longer than her mothers. The torbie she-cat was the runt of the litter, and still lags behind Hopestorm and Fiercestorm in size. Her soft pelt is a patchwork of red tabby, brown tabby, whites, blacks, and ambers. Her tail is on the fluffier side, tipped with white and covered with her torbie markings. There is a distinct difference between a cat that was built for speed, and one for power. It is obvious that Rosestorm was made to fight. Her claws are long and she can strike an opponent fast as lightning.

While she was younger, Rosestorm was more energetic, but as she grew older, her energy became more subdued. She still has somewhat of a stubborn personality and subtle aggression, when others don't see things her way. Rosestorm is a rebel at heart, mainly towards the seemingly tyranic ruling of Bloodstar. However, she manages to seem respectful towards most other warriors, and on most days is relatively friendly towards most cats, if they don't agitate her. Though Rosestorm was once resentful towards her adoptive sister, Hopstorm, she has learned to tolerate the she-cat who comforted her after the murder of Roseclaw. She is closest in the clan to her brother Fiercestorm after her mentor's death, but has recently found differences with her adoptive brother over the subject of his 'friend' Flurrytail. Rosestorm has learned to tolerate Bloodstar more after he saved her from being killed and eaten by a dog in the Treecut Place, but she still dislikes him, probably more then any cat in her Clan.

Born on a few days before Markedkit and Stormkit, Kestrelkit was accompanied into the world one a cloudy day with two siblings. One never even took a breath and the other died soon afterwards from birth defects.

She grew up thinking Bloodstar was her father. Kestrelpaw now knows that the red leader is in no way related to her. He was once her rolemodel, but is now a cat Kestrelpaw hates. Nothing much happened during her kithood up until Markedkit was taken from the Gathering. Then she and Stormkit went searching for her and came across kittypets and a loner named Adderstrike. Adderstrike was driven off and the kits returned to camp, where they were made apprentices a moon early to keep them out of trouble.

But tragedy always seems to strike Kestrelpaw's life at the most surprising times. Roseclaw had gone off on a patrol, and never returned. Kestrelpaw, along with Bloodstar and a patrol of other ThunderClan cats had found her former mentor's mutilated body. Only Roseclaw's skull had remained. There had been no body to take back to the camp. Kestrelpaw had expected to be made a warrior after Roseclaw's death, but to her surprise, her apprenticeship was moved into the paws of Bloodstar. Bloodstar was the last cat she expected, and wanted for the matter, to be apprenticed to.

Rosestorm had once disagreed with Bloodstar on the matter of Dogkit. She didn't think that the dog was dangerous to the clans, but Bloodstar's views were the complete opposite. Before she received her warrior name, Bloodstar took Rosestorm to the Treecut Place to see what a full grown dog really looked like. The dog had awakened, and made an attempt on her life. Bloodstar saved her life that day, and she learned to tolerate him.
