Long Description :
Nightmoth's short fur is a mixture of caramel and brown patches, with subtle tabby markings manifesting through her coat. Her eyes, though sightless, are clear and blue. In body shape, she takes more after her mother than her father, and Nightmoth is not as large as her sisters.

Personality
Nightmoth is a sensible, curious cat, but there is a streak of fierceness in her. Though it's subdued somewhat by Nightmoth's lack of sight, Fiercestar's blood runs well in Nightmoth's veins and Nightmoth is happy to show it if a chord is struck. The fact that she cannot see isn't as much of a bother to Nightmoth as the way some cats treat her because of it. She becomes defensive and angry if a bad remark is made about her blindness, and she hates it when others try to defend her.
Nightmoth has a great interest in the world around her, especially in things that she may indulge her physical senses. She loves the feeling of wind ruffling her fur and the smell of rain before it falls. Nightmoth doesn't mind being on her own--she prefers it sometimes--and although she can't move through unfamiliar territory as quickly as sighted cats, she gets around fine by relying on her other senses.

Full History :
The offspring of her Clan's leader and deputy, Mothkit was born to Bloodstar and Cottonwhisker in the Moon of Melting Waters, along with her two siblings, Bramblekit and Sparrowkit. When she was three moons old, Mothkit gained an additional sister in the abandoned Alderkit, whom Cottonwhisker took in. Mothkit remembers quite well the way Alderkit smelled of foreign earth and rocks when Sixclaw first brought her to the nursery and explained to Cottonwhisker that he'd found her at Highstones. However, Mothkit didn't know what that fully entailed about Alderkit. Nevertheless, Mothkit didn't completely mind Alderkit's presence and accepted her well enough.
As she was born blind, Mothkit's future in the Clan is uncertain. When she was younger, her blindness didn't bother her, but as Mothkit's sixth moon came closer, she recognized what a problem it was. While she was not very concerned for her own safety--she was and remains confident that her other senses have made up for her lack of sight--Mothkit doubted her usefulness to ThunderClan and assumed that when her sisters' apprentice ceremony came, she would be made into an elder. On the sixth day of the Moon of Lion's Glory (2007), Mothkit received a surprise from her father. While she was not apprenticed to a warrior or to Sixclaw, she was renamed Sorrelpaw, after Bloodstar's first mate, and became Sixclaw's assistant. Although she was given a theoretically useful position in the Clan, Sorrelpaw still felt useless and the weak satisfaction that she had with the job was ruined when her sister, Sparrowpaw, was made Sixclaw's apprentice. Sorrelpaw felt she'd have no use at all once Sparrowpaw knew all that she did and more. As a result, she thought that she would either become an elder or be kept Sixclaw's assistant out of pity. Neither option made her happy, but she did not and still doesn't know what else could happen that wouldn't bring more shame upon the Clan. On the twenty first day of the Moon of Melting Waters (2008), she was given the adult name of Nightmoth, but retained her rank of medicine cat assistant. |
