Long Description :
Though born in the feral cat clans, Bloodstar's Abyssinian ancestry shows clearly in his sizable body and long, lean limbs. His dense agouti fur is the traditional red of his father's breed, one that looks dramatically like dried blood. Though his body is lean, the muscles that stand out beneath his thick fur are heavy and powerful in a clear testament to his intensive training and the effort he makes to keep himself in top form. His underside is lined with deep claw-scars that slightly lessen the flexibility of torso. This combined with his great size (he is, in fact, the largest cat through the clans) makes stalking smaller and quicker prey species next to impossible for him.

Personality
Aggressive and froward are two words that are well suited to describe his personality of ThunderClan's ruddy-furred Leader. Now reaching middle age, he has not gained much in opinion of the other clans. His warborn attitude decrying death as the best choice for dealing with other clans has not been changed with his growing age. He is just as likely now as he was 25 moons ago to attempt to claw to shreds an intruder from beyond his clan prior to asking what it happens to be doing their.
He is in possession of an excellent memory that serves him both as a boon and a bane, for because of it medicine cats are never attacked so long as he as met them at least once at a gathering. It also, however, means that he will never forget a slight or insult paid to him. Unfortunately, his warlike nature makes forgiveness something he rarely engages in, even to those cats who are within his clan. Those cats who can still remember old Fiercestar are inclined to liken the personality of Bloodstar to him. |
History
Key Dates
Full History :
During the birth of New-leaf, in it's coldest days, the daughter of ThunderClan's leader gave birth under the watchful eye of the Medicine Cat. Gingertail bore a Tom and a She-cat without naming the sire. This choice was made because the cat she loved was not a part of the clan. He was not even a loner or Rouge, but a Kittypet with a blue-blooded pedigree known by the name Socrates. The two kittens grew quickly, both with fur as dark as night, and were given the names Darkkit and Nightkit when they were welcomed into the Clan formally.
As Leaf-bare began that year, both young cats were apprentice. Darkkit, who had shed his ebony kitten coat to unveil a rich ruddy coloration, was christened Redpaw when he was apprenticed to Gallantclaw by Fiercestar (Darkkit's aging grandfather). Gallantclaw was not unfamiliar with the art of mentoring, but even his skills were challenged by the savage and headstrong tomcat born to his leader's daughter. It was later that Leaf-bare, during its deepest cold, that Greencough took the final life of Fiercestar. Deputy Twilighttail (a black and white tabby she-cat) was accepted by StarClan and became Twilightstar. The peace that this new leader led to was not something that sat well with young Redpaw, who elevated getting into trouble to an art. Despite this, after 14 long moons of life, 8 of which were spent in training, Twilightstar accepted the newly dubbed Redpelt into her circle of warriors. It was the moon following his warrior ceremony that one of the most formative events in Redpelt's later life happened. He had, for reasons he now couldn't remember, talked back to the normally patient and forgiving Twilighttail. As punishment for this, he had been instructed to stay at the camp instead of attending the first Gathering after his warrior ceremony. He was left with 2 nursing queens who were busy caring for their kittens, and as the only warrior left behind, was responsible for the security of the camp. As the moon rose higher, all was peaceful, until a howl rent the air. It was mere minuets later that the black and tan beagle followed its nose through the gorse tunnel. With the arrogance of a kitten, Redpelt flew into combat with the dog while the two hissing queens stood over their kits. The battle between Redpelt and the dog raged violently, until the return of the party who had left for the gathering. They streamed through the tunnel to the sight of the Clans newest warrior streaming past them in pursuit of a yelping canine. Blood and fur covered the camp, like maccob decorations in the destruction the fight had caused. On the eve of the epic battle, Twilightstar called the clan together. Her feelings on the battle were mixed, for the dog had been a danger, but her warrior had torn apart most of the camp. Her answer, was instead to rename the young warrior rather than punish him in a traditional manner, so that he would remember to choose the locations of his fights more carefully. That night, Bloodpelt joined his fellow warriors in their den as a hero. Must of the rest of Bloodpelts' adventures were of the standard sort a clan cat has: border disputes, gatherings, and other moments of excitement. Things remained that way until Twilightstar's deputy slipped into the gorge during a dispute at the river. It was then that Bloodpelt, at just over 2 years old, stepped into the paws of Clan Deputy (something his grandsire had long ago asked Twilighstar to do if the opportunity arose). He served that station with loyalty and intensity for half a year, before the tragedy of Twilightstar's death befell the clan. During a crossing of the Thunderpath on her way to Mothermouth to share tongues with StarClan about the newborn Markedkit, the aging she-cat was struck and killed by one of the monsters. It was the next evening that Bloodpelt made the journey in her place, and was welcomed to the station of Clan Leader by StarClan, whose cry of 'Bloodstar' still seem to ring in his ears a moon later. His daughter, marked with the white star that made her the prophecized bringer of peace, still stood as the center of attention. She managed even to overshadow the tragedy of Twilightstar's death and the excitement of Bloodstar's ascension to Leadership. Despite this prophecy of peace, Bloodstar was involved in a battle at his first Gathering with Ashstar of RiverClan over where the Markedkit should be raised. Bloodstar managed to take one of the other leader's lives, while Tangleheart, the ThunderClan medicine cat, turned traitor and made an attempt on the Red Tom's life. With mercy, the Ex-Medicine Cat was renamed Stoneheart and thrown from the clan in front of the gathered cats of all clans. In the following moon lacking a Medicine Cat the healing known to the warriors of ThunderClan proved insufficient to halt the damage inflicted by Ashstar's claws. Bloodstar lost a life to infection. |
